It’s just ok

A lot of switching between departments. Rarely enough coverage. Would probably benefit from a union. Pay is getting better but for a company making 100’s of billions they could be a bit more generous.

Good first job

Good place to work part time. Lots of politics if you are working full time. If you are looking for a place to work where you can just keep your head down and do your job this is a good place to work.

Cancerous company and environment

They use you like an easy date. You don't matter to a huge corporation. The customers and managers alike are terrible and treat you like the dirt they walk on. They throw pizza parties instead of giving workers better pay. The pay is a joke and no one is laughing.

Pros

Easy to quit.

Cons

Everything about it.

Productive work

There’s always something to do, not bad pay wage. They give everyone a chance get work experience, room for growth or changing a career there after a few months.

Loved my coworkers

Enjoyed working here. Only issues I ever had was specific management. They did not do their Job and you had to physically remind the to do their job because if they didn't you would get written up.

Fun but stressful

At the time I worked there it was fun and felt like family over time changes were made that made your job more stressful. Also the pay wasn’t fair as a department manager finding out electronics associates was making more is when I knew I had to leave.

Corporate greed

It used to be a great company that cared about it’s employees and customers but it’s all about the dollar now. They expect more and more work out of associates and it’s gotten to where no one cares if it’s right.Good luck to everyone trying to find products. Order online and the associate can’t even find the products. So much waste and lost I don’t know how this company will last.

Pros

Work available

Cons

Do more with less

God awful

Managers don't care about what other associates do but they'll constantly rip you apart and have you constantly working with barely any time for breaks.

Good people

The people you work with are nice, the job can be stressful when direction is unclear. Hours and pay are not the best and time off for holidays are non existent.

Good as a starter job unless guaranteed higher position

Walmart Canada is a good job to start as a stepping stone such as student or first job.It has benefits which is are aware of can help with some costs and help get you things plus makes groceries little cheaper aif plan them out with discounts. However if looking for a long term job that pays good and can fulfill current living as an adult may not be job you are looking for unless in a higher paying role as most jobs are bottom of minimum wage to start.Job can be stressful, lack of staff, lots of responsibilities/duties and high pace with some days being the opposite. Overall not a bad place to start if don't make it to the top but not great if have costly expenses for living as not a high paying job if the average worker.

Pros

Discounts and benefits (if know where to look)

Cons

Minimum wage, lack of staff, busy, lots of responsibilities

Good place to get your feet wet in employment

Wal-mart is a good career-starter learning to work with people (customers) and a large, successful company. Was here for about 9 years full time and part-time on and off for a few years after that.

Easy to work, Terrible Communication

Easy to start work, but the management team could be better as they don't really care what other associates do and you're sometimes stuck doing all the work alone

Meaningless and Tedious Work

Hostile work environment combined with clueless management. Long hours with little to no appreciation. Minimal growth potential unless you go out of your way to mistreat employees. Poor benefits, and overall not worth the time spent there.

Great job for a single individual. Lots of opportunity to grow.

I had lots of opportunity for non stop growth. Which i loved. But, it was not good for my family life. The workplace wasnt the healthiest environment. I didnt manage people much as we were short staffed for almost 1 year.

Poor Management and Lack of Career Options

I've been with the company now for many years and have worked myself up to DM position. Unfortunately the pay is abysmal. I was willing to tolerate it for the promised career ladder I'd be climbing. The company unfortunately is run purely on nepotism. You will not get a promotion unless you are close friends (or even family) with those above. I've submitted several complaints about this to the ethics helpline and nothing has been done about it. Myself and others were responsible for the best sales and OSCA numbers the company had ever seen, but no compensation was given for the achievements. Instead they just let their good workers rot away until they quit. It's a really stupid business decision, but when you're this large, it doesn't seem to matter that your shrink is nearing 5% of your total sales. Somehow this thing still makes money. You will however, work with great co-workers and bond on how badly you're being treated together!

They are good and bad Walmarts stores depends on your management and the people

Working for Walmart there are good stores to work for and there are bad stores to work for when I was working for Crowley 310 it was a good experience for me but when I work for the neighborhood Walmart market in opelousas the management there really was not for me they worked against me till a lot of the times that's that's where me working for Walmart went sour

Pros

They have good insurance

Cons

They had to too many brakes

Work atmosphere

Decent place to work. You can move up the ladder decently fast if you put in the work and the positions are open to apply for. Decent pay too. And benefits

Good times better memories

My typical day began in the produce section where I checked stock and made sure all the freezers were up and going. My employees were always good to work with and on time. I enjoyed my time and compensation here as well as the employee discount on Walmart products.
