Jobs at Walmart
No more bonuses
Associate (Current Employee) - Ottawa, OH - December 6, 2023
You get out of the job what you put into it. All bonuses have been taken away except for the occasional pizza party. Recently cut starting wages across the board.

It was a nice job
Cashier (Former Employee) - Colorado - December 6, 2023
I worked here for a year as a cashier it was a decent job the only thing I didn’t like about working at Walmart is that it’s really hard to get a full 40 hours a week

Poor workplace
Cashier (Former Employee) - Algonquin, IL - December 6, 2023
Not enough salary. They make you work so much harder and low compensation. Not so cool with the current inflation situation going on. You talk to the manager and they don’t even care

Good high school job
Stock Associate (Former Employee) - Shorewood, IL - December 6, 2023
Worked here for almost 2 years from the age of 16 to 18. I would recommend the job to high schoolers trying to pick up some extra cash. The work is super straightforward and the management is pretty laid back. PTO available for even part time hourly associates.

Great start to management
Customer Service Manager (CSM) (Former Employee) - Sanford, NC - December 6, 2023
I worked third shift so there was light customer traffic. This was a great learning experience but I did not stay due to office politics. Overall pay was decent and hours were ok.

Only good thing is the pay
Customer Service Associate (Current Employee) - Miami, OK - December 6, 2023
Pay is good but management is so unprofessional. Not a place for a career. They do not take ethical complaints seriously. Better pay than most around the area but that’s the only good thing about the company.

Stressful
Cashier (Former Employee) - Greensboro, NC - December 6, 2023
I would not work here. Often had issues receiving breaks in a timely manner. Received coachings for having overtime and told to leave on time but had no relief.

Meh
Tire and Lube Technician (Former Employee) - Chehalis, WA - December 6, 2023
The auto section is the best section, bit the whole place is run horribly! From the top down, things are handled poorly, and if you are a good worker then they will burn you out!! Be very careful to guard your life because they don't care!

Personal Shopper (Former Employee) - San Antonio, TX - December 6, 2023
They got you doing more then your own work. Always gotta help the stockers while you still have picks and low staff. No raises. Alot of heavy lifting

Ok place
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - December 6, 2023
It was ok… management expected everything of me… the worst part about working there was dealing with the customers… Not all but you see the ugliness in people

Find a way to make the bad become learned.
Wal-Mart Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Shreveport, LA - December 6, 2023
Putting smiles on customers faces. Yes I believe I learned from the company. Typical day was doing my daily walk thru and doing what needed to be done. No parts of the job was hard. The most enjoyable parts was just enjoying what I learned to do and knowing I did my best.
Pros
Management
Cons
Lazy co workers

Great company to work for, no holiday pay, and they need to give raises.
Personal Shopper (Current Employee) - Porterville, CA - December 6, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The best part of working for Walmart is providing customer service to customers and helping them out and they leave with a smile. However, not all customers are very nice and most people lack common sense and respect for others. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Rude customers, customers don't put things back and open packages and leave stuff random places. People yelling at you for no reason. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Depends where you work but over all it's alright. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Crazy customers, messy store, not enough pay.

fine for beginner job
Floor Associate (Former Employee) - Spring Hill, TN - December 6, 2023
work was easy for the most part but management was awful. most of my day consisted of basic restocking and cleaning clutter from shelves. Still, none of the management could coordinate with each other and got mad when a different section supervisor asked you to do something else.

Stressful
Cart Pusher (Former Employee) - Ephrata, PA - December 6, 2023
The management didn’t really treat all of their employees the best and showed a lot of favoritism towards certain associates. They were also surprisingly understaffed
