Great management and stable environment to work for. Employee centric work place, management is great.

My experience here has been terrible 3 weeks into starting. Instant regret. Manager speaks condescendingly and expects you to know everything and does NOT offer help. Supposed to be a "collective working environment - it is quite the opposite." Instead was told to "go do research" and "figure it out." Whereas, when others on the team ask for help, they are given the information they need....I know of another person who left the HR department I work with too because of poor management. Manager throws a fit and yells at meetings - highly unacceptable. Every employee under this manager is put under a lot of stress. Company does NOT care for its employees either. PTO is made available for all employees who work. Apparently, when I take PTO for medical reasons, they need "proof." Never heard of a HR department ask the reason for why someone takes PTO or are they supposed to. No one's legal right to know. Even when presenting them with proof of medical reason, it was not "technical enough." Was told by recruiter and others upon joining that there would be ample opportunities for career development and advancement. When asking my manager, I was told "there is no time for it now" - excuses kept piling on.

The company offers a very competitive salary with great benefits. The medical PPO plan is very cheap with a great deductible and out of pocket........

The work environment is extremely toxic. There is a lot of micro-management, and managers do not treat employees with respect. There is a room for advancement, but you may be stuck in the gas industry forever if you choose to spend your life here.

The company was a good company to work for in the beginning. It had great benefits and you didn't mind going to work each day. I had high Hope's for the company until I learned they were outsourcing the business to another company who knew nothing about the Gas business. People with seniority lost everything. Some had 35 or more years thrown away. We all lost our jobs because the outsourcing industry brought in their own people to run things. They messed up when they tried to handle gas leaks of locals from long distances. It failed miserably. It was a horrible sell out on Washington Gas part.
