Terrible Upper Management

It's fun to work at a large city magazine, of course, and there are some good people there. But the owner of the magazine holds way too much power and uses the publication to advance herself and her friends.

This was a great place to work and would definitely work there again. I was a contract photographer and did some very interesting stories there. I enjoyed it very much.

Fun and family like atmosphere with respectable co-workers who help one another accomplish sales goals. Lots of laughter and extracurricular cooperation throughout the magazine.

It's all good. They have swag give-away once a month. The community loves the magazine. We have a family feeling.

Nothing to offer
Private (Current Employee)June 19, 2011
Poor, non-innovative management. Poor benefits and it takes 5 years to earn your third week of vacation time. 5 years! You are stuck with ten days until that point. Industry is facing a very hard time, so you won't get a raise (unless you are at the top), and the company is so small that there isn't much room for advancement. Most of the people are friendly--thats one positive.
