Office Supervisor/ Human Resources Supervisor (Former Employee) – Sweetwater, TX – January 16, 2019
Hard work pays off! Promotions are recognized with hard work! The owners are amazing. Washita Valley is a very exciting place to work. I learned so much in the short time that I was there. I was very sad to have been laid off.....
Laborer (Former Employee) – Louisville, OH – November 21, 2018
Washita Valley Lousiville, only hires through temp services. The turnover is very, very high. Temp services make good money from this company and cater to them.
Most employees work outside all day, all year. Outside unheated bathrooms. Yard employees are only welcome inside the heated or air conditioned building if they are buying snacks or drinks.
Their is no retirement - 401k for any employees. Employees pay a large percentage of any health coverage.
The ones who stay, stay for the overtime. Certain times of the year they will work seven days a week and at least twelve hours a day. These hours can make for good pay checks.
This company in my opinion of course, seeks employees who are physically strong, mentally low, have a lack of self worth, do not mind being looked down upon, fear-mongered. If they get hurt on the job, no one will care and they will soon be gone.
Employees are not treated with respect by upper management. Corporate office is in another state. Hierarchy management gives totalitarian power that can and is abused here.
Don't be fooled by the Oil Field label of this job. If you have a good or decent job do not leave it for this one!
If you are down and hard up for work, see this job as temporary, do not expect anything but your paycheck in return. Remember everyday to tell yourself that you matter! Try not to get bitter about what you see and hear. In the end when you can, close the door and move on with your head held high.
."There are employers out there that will see your hard work and respect your comment as a team member.more... There are also those who still see America as more than a place to make money and are willing to share profits and give back. Employers that understand that turnover actually cost the companies more money and damages the communities from which these employees live are respected and should be given high ratings"
Cons Poor working conditions,No advancements, No raises, False promises of raises, High turnover, Hitler-Stalin like management- high turnover, Employee disrespect of ownership because they do not seem to care about employees, Negative attitudes from a dead end job, Overtime hours can cause you to work seven days a week, have enough money to pay bills but, not enough to afford steady mortgage or vehicle payments, Over time hours are not a guarantee, With overtime hours - which are normally during good weather and most weekends -there is a good chance you will not see your family much, miss out of children's events, work on most holidays for straight time, You will get Christmas and Thanksgiving "day" only paid and off unless you are on call.
Temp services do not care if you are treated poorly, they will replace you quickly.less
Yard crew most of whom dislikes their jobs have created a unique brotherhood, if they let you in. Overtime can make paycheck awesome and bills get paid.
Have to find trailers in the dark in a very large yard .lots of mud or dust
Driver (Current Employee) – Okla.City – November 10, 2018
Old trucks mechanics are arrogant.so is head dispatcher.I have been shorted on pay.odd working hours, you never know when you will be starting next day until you get a text.they pay by check and tell you not to cash it till3:00
CVD Crew Leader (Former Employee) – Enid, OK – September 15, 2017
Great workplace, hardest thing to do was be on time. There would be days where we would get off late be required to be at the yard early mornings to leave for another job site, other then that you got to meet alot of great people
Field Services Manager (Former Employee) – Oklahoma City, OK – June 6, 2017
Great company to work for if your good at separating home and work. if your looking to get a little ahead and willing to work long hours and on call 24/7/365 this job is awesome for you. I did it for 8 years and enjoyed it. just didn't get much home time and missed out on a lot of my kids milestones. But I would work for WVEI again.
Good pay when you had the work available! Not a 9-5 40 hour work week! Miss communication and or miss information between Compliance and Dispatching!
Former Truck Driver (Former Employee) – Louisville, OH – February 14, 2017
Dispatch and Compliance not working together to make sure that Drivers are properly informed on the rules and regulations with the DOT and Company! Was told by dispatch the if the driver is out of hours on the 11 and 14 hour rule that it is ok to use the safe haven rule to get to a hotel or home especially if you are driving a day cab! Was fired by compliance for doing so because the safe haven rule can only be used if you have a hazmat load according to compliance! The company fired 5 drivers and 1 dispatcher because of this! Unfair and not the drivers fault; they were doing what they thought was the right thing to do! They treat drivers as if they are a dime a dozen! Was with the company 6 months thru a temp service and instead of getting hired in to WVEI, I was fired for using the safe haven rule! They lost at least 1 dedicated driver! The compliance officer in OKC and Dispatcher in Louisville, Oh should have been the ones fired!
Good pay - when the work was there!
Lies to drivers, miss communication to drivers, unsteady and to few hours.
Inspector (Former Employee) – Carmichaels, PA – December 30, 2016
Work hours were anywhere from 8 to 18 hours straight. Was not very family friendly, but the paychecks were nice. Hardest part of the job was the long drives to and from the work site after working for long periods of time. As a driver and Inspector I was required to fill out a Driver's Log, clean, and inspect the casing. At the end of the week we had to turn in all driver's logs. Winters were very difficult considering we were working with solvents and metal pipe.
decent pay, good benefits
ridiculous hours, long drives, at times long tedious work
