One of the worst places to work
Maintenance / custom fabrication (Former Employee) –  Exeter, CAMay 7, 2019
This place is as backwards as can be, you will get a job and 20 minutes later they will change it. Then you will get written up for not doing the first one.
Zero cohesiveness within management, no one there has any idea of what is going on.

The worst place to work, they will fire you on the spot for no reason.

Loved working here. Lots of hard working people at this company. I learned a lot while working here, and enjoyed working with the production staff, the true heart of Waterman Valve.
Pros
Pay very competitive
Cons
Managers can be aggressive

Good people to work with but poor management
Welder 2 (Former Employee) –  Exeter, CAFebruary 2, 2019
Working at Waterman valve was a wonderful experience as far as the work and the people that I worked with. However it was poorly managed. The managers of the welding Department had very poor administrative and management skills. They appeared to single out individuals and play favoritism. There were individuals who were educated and licensed as well as experienced who should have received higher pay and higher job positioning. Leeds did their jobs as well as they could however with a very high number of employees in need of guidance and management they did not receive the help that they needed. As such they were stretched thin and many employees were left to fend for themselves and this resulted in situations where an employee did not receive work assignments and received the blame. There was little regard for an individual's private life management and emergencies. Any cell phone use regardless of reason is punishable buy immediate termination without warning or explanation. There are no Second Chances resulting in high turnout. Other complaints are that working an average of 10 hours a day and only receiving 30 minute lunches and only two 15-minute breaks was not fair. The company makes the claim that they will provide all tools that are needed for an individual to work however they do not keep tools well-stocked and as such employees must provide as many of their own tools as possible or work will never get done. There is no compensation offered for tools bought and left at work.
Pros
Safe and comfortable working environment. Friendly co-workers.
Cons
Poor management, Short lunches and breaks, Long and early hours, Often working Saturdays with variable hours that could change at a moment's notice
