Started out great!...
TELLER (Former Employee) –  Fox Point, WIMarch 28, 2019
Waterstone Bank was great at first. They brought in new management for retail banking and it became more about numbers than about helping customers. The benefits were great but you're not compensated enough based on experience. They ask for your input for new ideas but your ideas never get acknowledged nor do they get to the right person. Overall it was a decent place to work at. It's a good start if you want to get a feel of what the financial industry is like.
Pros
Benefits. Pto. Employee discounts
Cons
Short breaks. Numbers driven

A pleasant place to work
Community Relations Lead, WaterStone Bank (Former Employee) –  Wauwatosa, WIJuly 24, 2018
WaterStone Bank is a good place to work. The work environment is pleasant and there is a great emphasis placed on work-life balance. Not much room for advancement if you are on the corporate side of things, but tellers do sometimes advance through the ranks fairly quickly.

Friendly small company with an older customer base. Branches are very nice but there is little room for advancement in the company due to small staff sizes.

I worked for WSB for two years, I made the switch thinking it was a good idea. The grass definitely wasn't greener. Management is immature and if you apply for a different position and they don't want you to leave they will sabotage your opportunity.
Pros
Pay was decent
Cons
Poor management

I had a wonderful experience working here. However, I was unfortunate with some upper management who I just couldn't get along with professionally. They are a very supportive company and really have their employees and customers best interests at heart.

Bank Teller (Former Employee) –  Oconomowoc, WINovember 21, 2016
The branch I was located at was slow but this company was really good to work for. This is a Wisconsin based company that has decided to keep it just in this state. They had great benefits.

For a "small" company in the banking industry, WaterStone Bank has a lot of opportunity for advancement to employees who put in the time and hard work.
Pros
A lot of opportunity for advancement
Cons
Lower starting wages

Not all about the numbers but how you personally grow and develop. Liked their involvement in the community. Learned a lot.
