Grinder/Finisher in Ironwood, MI
on April 8, 2021
I found waupaca foundry Ironwood mi. facility to be negative/unfair to the ones who did not fit into their little click. Hard workers NOT IN THE CLICK could NEVER grind enough castings, or do ANYTHING right for that matter, while their favorites could be slow, lazy, not care about their jobs, take extra long lunch breaks, walk around with their hands in their pockets, etc, and nothing was said to them. I found that facility to have RULES that only seemed to apply to workers OUTSIDE of the CLICK. Hard workers can grind 1.5 to 3 times the castings with quality on top of it, but that person DOES NOT get 1.5 to 3 times the pay, instead the EXTRA parts ground goes into the monthly bonus program so the lazy, slow, unwilling workers get a bonus check they don't deserve, all while ALL of management sits back and does nothing about the slow workers or the unfair pay scale in Ironwood. My shift I found a ton of harrasment from the click, lots of backstabbing, trouble, they did not seem to want to see you happy there.

Run! You are just a number. Other duties as assigned, is taken way to fare. There is no compensation or thanks for doing a good job. Waupaca foundry is not what it used to be. Waupaca foundry has forgotten the defanitions between the words voluntary and mandatory.

Maintenance Technician in Tell City, IN
on February 26, 2021
Nothing I did at Waupaca was terribly hard (maintenance). The environment is horrendous. The management will tell you the air quality is good, but you can walk around with an air monitor and it will constantly go off for CO (carbon monoxide). Only place I've ever worked where production makes more money than the skilled labor. Very picky about hours and breaks. Threatened to "pro-rate" my vacation that I already used because I found a better job.
