bad management on local level
Satellite Installation Technician (Former Employee) –  Traverse City, MIJuly 9, 2018
AWESOME JOB! Loved what I did!
local management was nothing but a bully that didnt care about you unless you were the top earner. regional management was better but still lacking due bad scheduling and over scheduling causing 12+ hour work days when it wasn't necessary or safe.

What can you do for me today attitude
Home Service Specialist (Former Employee) –  WisconsinJune 28, 2018
The type of work We connect does is actually interesting( satellite install and service). The way the company is managed is horrible. There is an attitude from all of management of "What can you do for me today?". They have no regard of work life to family life. Numerous times would get home from work at like 9:30pm after starting at 7am. If you put in a request for time off or to be finished by a certain time, you will have to remind supervisor and routing at least 3 times of time you need off otherwise you will have work on your route . No weekends off ever. If you have work on your route that you can not complete regardless of circumstances ( rescheduled or customer canceled etc) it has negative effect on metrics . More on metrics coming up. After a period of a few months you get switched from hourly pay to unit pay . Unit pay is a certain amount of $ × a unit or point. Each job is worth different amounts of units. So an install can be worth around 22-48 units depending on customers need. If a job gets downed for whatever reason You don't get paid for your time on site. Your metrics have control on how much pay you get per unit. Factors you cannot control ( customers changing mind, routing taking jobs away). The only way to make decent money on unit pay is to average 80-100 units a-day. Gets challenging to do with just drive times to jobs being on average 30 min to over an hour. You don't get paid drive time. Even though you are in company truck which is considered a work environment legally and would have no other reason to be driving work truck You will  more... not get paid for the time in truck.  less
Pros
Gas is paid for in work truck
Cons
Poorly managed, poor treatment of employees

It was a fast paced competitive place. The trainers were nice, but weren't properly trained.
Satellite Installation Technician (Former Employee) –  Saginaw, MIMay 11, 2018
I liked the people, and the pay was good, but the company managers are too strict on rules that were never even taught to me. I wouldn't recommend this company. I wish that they were better. I was making good money. If you ever apply here. Make sure you ask for the best trainer.
Pros
Good pay, met a lot of really cool customers.
Cons
A lot of driving time. Long days. Poor managment.

Installation Technician (Former Employee) –  Saginaw, MIMarch 15, 2018
This has turned into a terrible place to work if you're a technician. Long long hours, long drive times that you don't get paid for, if you want to advance in the company you will take a huge pay cut, and your battle to keep your job every day. No guarantee
Pros
Work van
Cons
Zero family life and ZERO help from upper management, You will get treated unfairly with all complaints fall on deaf ears

Very technical and physically demanding. Long hours and a lot of driving. They do put a high demand on employees to "upsell" every job. Management is sometimes unavailable when needed.

Love doing installs and meeting new cuatomers.
Home Entertainment Specialist (Current Employee) –  Green Bay, WINovember 30, 2017
I enjoyed meeting new people fixing there problems and giving them the best install they could get. Making people happy and know that everything was done right is what I love about the job. But unfortunately I would never recommend working for We Connect themselves cause they promise and promise but never give. They also care more about you working then being sick or your family not a care in the world. So sad I know of many techs there trying to get out they would rather train new then please the great ones they have.
Pros
Can make allot of money
Cons
So many to list

Dishonest, untrustworthy and unemphatic superiors. Zero work/life balance. Long hours and no respect. Life is short, definitely not worth it. Quitting in very near future.

fast paced cable installation work
Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) –  Seymour, WIAugust 23, 2017
The pay was low but the work was balanced and management was good. The most difficult was dealing with the cable technicians as they all wanted their product first.

Satellite Installation Technician (Former Employee) –  Grand Rapids, MIJuly 30, 2017
Was told that I would be hired for specific area and.that was a lie. Dispatch would send you hours away from home (free) and you wouldn't get paid for it. You may or may not get a lunch break but they will automatically deduct a lunch break. You have to check in early morning and you may or may not work as they may change it at any time. Company is really messed up

Technician (Current Employee) –  Green Bay, WIJune 12, 2017
Long days, work you so far from home that you can drive out to area 2 hrs plus and drive home 2 hrs plus without pay either way. You have to get the job done no matter how ridiculous the situation even if it means safety for yourself or conditions. Always sell, job comes second

The job isn't hard, but the managers make it difficult. There are rules and regulations that they don't make you aware of until you can get int trouble.

Run! Don't waste your time.
Satellite Technician (Former Employee) –  WIMay 21, 2017
You are a statistic to the company. Disposable. They don't care about you, compensation is questionably ethical. Change how they do things monthly. Clueless on how to treat people. Expect you to drive all day, redo work and attend meetings without compensation for your time it only included in each job you complete or after you get overtime. So if you drive for 8 hours and only put in 2 jobs you only get paid for those 2 jobs. Then you have to sell at the installation. Got to hit the statisics.
Pros
Changing environment
Cons
Everything, no defined work hours, mandatory 6 day weeks

I signed up to install dish and cables and they wanted me to sell also.
Field Service Technician (Former Employee) –  Saginaw, MIMay 1, 2017
I would drive from customer to customer homes and install dish and cable to their televisions. I learned how to install cable and point the dish at the satellites. Management started out ok, and went down hill quickly. The work culture was not good as they over scheduled the technicians daily and you had to finish all jobs assigned even after it was dark out and then come right back in the morning after some 16 hour days. The hardest part of the job was when they expected every technician to up sell more equipment to customers.
Pros
working with some good customers
Cons
Not enough technicians to do the work
