Fun workplace
Managers did work with your schedule. They trained workers very well but had to push to learn what the "higher associates" such as order and paperwork. I had the experience to work in different departments to see if I fit.

Working at Wegmans was both great and awful at the same time. I got lucky and ended up working with friends from school so workdays would fly by, but if you aren't so lucky the workplace culture is awful. Supervisors abuse power, and the front end managers (they went through 3 in the 2 years I worked there) tended to be the most awful people of the bunch. The opposite of understanding, and had a penchant for yelling at employees for doing things such as getting water when they work outside during the summer. There is also an insane amount of favoritism when it comes to advancement, if you weren't friends with the manager you were very likely to be passed up on a promotion. I worked there for over 2 years and I was paid less than the new employees who were still in training.

Great place to work for. Management and good employees stand by our 5 core values. High standards; respect; caring ;make a difference; empower. There’s always opportunity to apply for different departments and move up the in the company. Your own determination and efforts are your responsibility.

Please keep in mind this is for one area at the Postville RSCManagement and HR have no idea how to handle a any situation that presents itself. They do not listen to your opinions/concerns and brag about the culture and standards but do not uphold to the standards themselves. The management team is not there to help you even though they claim to be. Safety and other legitimating issues are hardly ever addressed. Also don't expect them to help you or be understanding in the case of a family emergency. HR and management put on a façade just to cover all of there mistakes up.

Great part-time job hard to become a full-time employee. The work is repetitive and it does get old. It would be a better place to work if part-time employees had better benefits.

They asked me questions I felt were more bizarre for an interview. Asked me in an unsafe scenario, what would I do? I asked for what type of unsafe situation because that would determine my response (a wet floor sign vs a fist fight has two different outcomes)... they didn’t like that I asked nor helped clarify the question. They asked other questions about knife skills, last product I learned about (could be anything at all) and to explain it to them, last opinion of mine that I tried to convince someone of.. etc. if you aren’t prepared to recall any of this then good luck answering, and good luck trying to make something up because they’ll ask follow up questions about your response.
