PDM Supervisor, SAP Training (Former Employee) – Beaverton, OR – January 4, 2019
When I worked at Welch Allyn, it was a progressive, lean CI company whose focus on reliable, affordable medical devices and community service made me proud to be a part of their team.
I was released from Welch Allyn when they closed down their operations side of business at the site I worked at. Afterwards, they were bought by another medical device company. Therefore, I cannot speak to their current culture, but many of my colleagues on the Engineering side of the business remain at Welch Allyn, and my colleagues at the corporate site in NY are still there. I would guess that the good work culture continued if they stayed on.
Sr. Software Tester (Former Employee) – Skaneateles Falls, NY – October 17, 2018
The general feeling was that management was not including the employees in the decision process for office life. Moving to an open floor plan took away the privacy of cubicle life and caused more distractions. The overall feeling from the employees and contractors was that the work place setting has been detrimental to productivity.
Operations Department Manager (Former Employee) – Skaneateles Falls, NY – September 30, 2018
People and Culture are above average, this was a great place to work. I would recommend this company to anyone. Welch Allyn has great devices and are always looking to improve and do a great job listening to their customers (external and internal).
Operator II (Current Employee) – Skaneateles, NY – July 17, 2018
The company is a great medical device company to work for. There are many types of jobs and the company likes to hire within. The company also offers different shifts with pay differentials for those shifts.
Electrical Engineer (Former Employee) – Skaneateles, NY – July 6, 2018
Off the bat everyone is very approachable, you even can play ultimate frisbee with one of the Allyn family every day in the field outside work. The teams work on cool tech and give you the resources to do the job. There are some upper upper management issues I hear got resolved.
Coordinator (Former Employee) – Skaneateles, NY – June 27, 2018
The culture and people are great, but the salary does not match the job requirements. I left Welch Allyn for another company and performed similar (actually, less) work and was paid $20k more a year at the new company.
The trade-off here is that Welch Allyn offers job security and a fun work environment. For me, the salary was a deal-breaker, but it could be worth it for others.
Engineer (Former Employee) – Milwaukee, WI – June 25, 2018
Software and hardware engineering have these two amazing directors who ensure a drama-free and supportive workplace. The system is susceptible to yes-men/-women, and must work harder to keep them contained.
Wonderful co-workers from a once-family company, lots of fitness activites on site
Promotions and project assignment is not transparent
Shipping and Receiving (Former Employee) – Skaneateles, NY – April 9, 2018
Good company. You can listen to your ipod while working. It was a monday through friday job so i loved having the weekends to myself. Loved seeing that a company cares about their employees because i met so many people that have been there for over 20 years.
Monday through friday job. Can listen to music while working.
