It's not bad
Mechanic (Current Employee) - Grand Rapids, MI - May 25, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt's not a bad place to work. It has its ups and downs. Communication could be better from management. But as long as you show up and do your job, it's not bad.

A really good company to work for. My managers go above and beyond to make us feel welcome here. The employees I work for at my location all try to work together for the betterment of the company.

Most exciting
Logistics Coordinator (Current Employee) - Weller Repairables - April 27, 2023
The best part is problem solving, every day there are new problems that arise and it is fun to get the figured out. My favorite part with that is colleague's are willing to help out if and when you need them.
Pros
Free lunch

Raises are once a year

Workplace
Parts Puller (Current Employee) - Grand Rapids, MI - April 26, 2023
As an employee I’ve had nothing but good experiences when it comes to working for Weller Auto. They are very family oriented and understanding; I love both the management team along with most of my co-workers. There’s a great atmosphere with just the right amount of professionalsim and friendships. I feel valued and appriciated as an employee which has made my experience working here even better.

Productive and fun place to work!
Office Administrator (Current Employee) - South Bend, IN - April 25, 2023
Weller is a family owned business and they treat their employees fairly. They ask that you show up everyday and give them your best effort. Learned alot about the different aspects of the salvage business. I am at a smaller location so everyone seems to get along.
Pros
Great benefits

Decent job, friendly staff
Parts Puller (Former Employee) - Grand Rapids, MI - April 9, 2023
Didn’t have many issues working here other than the hours being cut to 35 hours a week due to “covid” and to “give us a little break”. Don’t expect to get good pay increases.

Jobs at Weller Auto Parts
Physically demanding, low pay for work duties
Shipping and Receiving (Former Employee) - Grand Rapids, MI - January 9, 2023
Must be able to lift heavy auto part. Paid too little considering use of different forklifts, including a large version that picks up entire scrap vehicles and large orders

Weller is a very good company to work for and grow with.
Operations Manager for Repairables division (Current Employee) - 2522 Burlingame Ave - December 28, 2022
Weller Auto is a fairly large company with 4 division's, yet has a small family owned company feel. The owners really take good care of the employees. It's ran very well with good management in place.

Great place to work, management from the bottom to the top are there to stand behind you. Family oriented setting, No weekends 8-5 with benefits.
Returns Associate (Former Employee) - Wyoming, MI - May 12, 2022
Job and position are great, employee retention sucks sometimes, but i dont think its managements fault. Full benefits with 40 hrs a week, no weekends. Would i apply again knowing what i know, probably. Only thing i wish was different was the vacation policy, i think that it is overall a great place to work and ive been taken care of so far. I think better pay incentive might help with employee retention in certain departments.
Pros
Weekends off, benefits, 401k, incentives, 8-5 positon, 1hr lunch, management
Cons
Medical benefits kind of suck, but for the size they are im glad they still offer them. Pay. Working in the heat and cold.

Dispatch is unique
PRP (Current Employee) - Grand Rapids, MI - June 24, 2021
Working in dispatch is different than other dept. high paced and semi repetitive tasks. You have to be physically strong as you will be moving auto parts by hand or with machinery.
Pros
Flexible on time ( if you're 5 minutes late they don't yell at you) unique co-workers
Cons
High paced or slow, management at the top needs to support ground level leadership

Great company to work for.
Driveline Cores (Current Employee) - 2019 Chicago Drive - February 19, 2021
Weller is very good at taking care of its employees. Work scheduling is very flexible, and they've always understood when I've had family issues. I've never worked at another company with benefits better than here. Pay is also competitive. They always try to promote from within. I come to work feeling like I'm helping build something greater than myself. Coming to work at Weller was definitely a defining moment in my life.
Pros
Amazing benefits, Family oriented.
Cons
Some positions are outside in the conditions.

Frontier Truck Parts (sister co) Refused to view me as an asset because I’m female.
Janitor and Cleaner (Former Employee) - Dorr, MI - July 7, 2020
The daily drama levels at this place are off the charts for a bunch of guys. There is very little and or broken communication lines. It was a struggle to understand how to create an entire full time cleaning schedule for myself and try to keep supplies on hand and be completely ignored. It was the most frustrating job I’ve ever had. I wasted my time taking them seriously.
Pros
There’s always a joke to be had
Cons
There’s always a joke to be had
