In Nevada, you even need a Food Handler's Card to work at Walmart as a Cashier.
Yes in Nevada you need a foodhandler card if you work there. And at any restaurants here.

I live in West Virginia, and worked in Ohio when I worked at my Wendy's. So, I am not sure if the state laws are similar for your state. However, I simply applied, and they started the interview process immeadiately. I have never even heard about that certification until I read your question. Unless the they specifically request it on the application, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Do not be afraid to ask the manager or a current employee if you want to make sure, though.
