Flow 2, Production Technician (Former Employee) –  Columbus, OH 43228September 19, 2018
West-Ward is great place to work for with stable hours and excellent benefits for a growing family. Work environment has a great team work ethic. Very challenging at times, if you are eager to learn more about pharmaceutical industry and processes. It is best fit for all entry level technicians and lots of room for growth.
Pros
Paid lunch Break, Pto, Medical Benefits
Cons
Can be slow at times.

West-ward was great place to work. I learned various new laboratory skills. My colleagues were always willing to help each other and to mentor each other.

Cluture based on fear and intimidation
Laboratory Staff (Current Employee) –  Columbus, OHFebruary 13, 2018
This place was a great place to work under BI (previous owner)however after the company was bought the downward spiral began. Much of this company's premise has become based on nothing more than profit at any expense. Management continually chooses to ignore the morale problem at the facility in hopes that if enough people leave, are pushed out or are fired they will be able to do whatever they want. Many of the current employees are looking for a way out if they can find it. This management style creates a sense of fear in just doing you daily job as people keep disappearing without any explanation.
Pros
good benefits and paid time off
Cons
management, a failing company, poor planning, lack of worth as an employee

This job tested my ability to deduce problems and come up with solutions to fix the issue. A true challenge coming from a different field of work (coming from restaurants).

Not good for 2-5 years into the future.
Scientist 1 (Current Employee) –  Columbus, OHDecember 3, 2017
Unfortunately this company was much more when it was owned by BI. After the sale however massive staffing, benefit and general cuts have created a very unsatisfactory working environment in the laboratories. Zero room for advancement as well as management strong arming many of the workers into this new way of thinking under west-ward. West-wards only plan is keep cutting till the company becomes profitable in their eyes. The company will realize too late that they will have lost all of their stand out employees this way. Overall conclusion don't bother getting in here for 2-3 years either it will be under new management by then or will not exist.

Save yourself and avoid this company
Analyst 3 (Former Employee) –  Columbus, OHJune 28, 2017
Management has no idea what they're doing. The business cannot compete with larger companies like Teva and Mylan. Low pay, long hours, no additional compensation. You'll never get a good review from your manager because they don't want to pay out bonuses. Almost zero job security as multiple people have been laid off to 'flatten the organization' only to have those roles put back in place later with different people. There is a good chance this company won't be here in a few years, and if the site is Lucky it, will be sold to a company that knows what is doing. There are much better companies and jobs here in Columbus, don't waste your own potential.

A company in transition
Associate Director (Former Employee) –  Columbus, OHApril 14, 2017
WW is growing through acquisition and is going through growing pains. The recent purchase of Roxane in Columbus has resulted in a clash of business cultures (Roxane moving from family owned, to public company with WW). It will take some time for the overall business to mesh. Good and capable people at WW.
Pros
Great people, in-line salaries and benefits
Cons
Business that has not had to execute in the public/competitive environment

Moral was horrible there. The associate directors and directors try to intimidate you.
Supervisor/Manager (Former Employee) –  Columbus, OHFebruary 25, 2017
I was employee for over 6 yrs. It started out pretty good and even received several promotions. But then the bottom fell out. As a part of management i was treated like a second hand citizen. Sr. Management is horrible and if you are not part of clique then you can hang it up. Management only looks out for their own behinds and don't care about the people who are doing the job. Very tight with money and raises are hard to get unless you are part of the good ole boys network. The raises suck. To much work for only a .30 raise.
Pros
Plenty of paid time off to start
Cons
Associate directors and Directors are a big joke in the manufacturing and packaging departments

Mediocre place to work
Packaging Technician (Former Employee) –  Hilliard, OHNovember 25, 2016
You are expected to learn everything you're first year, if you get stuck with a bad trainer it's on you for doing it wrong. Highly repetitive job and yet employees who have been there 15+ years still don't know how to perform there job. You are required to take tests on everything that you learn. Pay starts at 13.50 and raises are .30 a year if your lucky to get a meets rating at your end of year review. Equipment that is used to manufacture product is faulty and management refuses to fix them. Very shady company to work for. Employee appreciation doesn't exist here, impossible to move up unless your golfing with management on the weekends and are bff
Pros
Inside job, climate controlled
Cons
Management is always turning over. Impossible to move up
