Easy job, however...

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
The job itself was easy, but the pay was minimum according to your state. Also, I missed one mandatory security test due to being hospitalized, yet they still fired me for missing it, instead of allowing me to make it up once I got better.

I enjoyed the jobs, I learned things in every company I worked with

What is the best part of working at the company? My favorite things were the different clients I worked with, and making my own schedule What is the most stressful part about working at the company?I couldn’t get enough hours, I wanted at least 20 hours and some companies would put up hours and it was hard to grab them What is the work environment and culture like at the company?I like working from home because I can focus on my customers better. What is a typical day like for you at the company?I get up, get my work station ready. I get in to West at Home then check any memos then get in to take calls

Great experience, loved the hours, wish I could work there again.

What is the best part of working at the company?Being able to work flexible hours. And as many hours as you needed. Also having the detailed dialog on the screen for you. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Working at 2AM or 3AM and getting phone calls with people breathing on the phone. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The work environment and culture like at the company was supportive and good. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Logging on on time, taking calls for orders of products seen on television. Confidentially processing those orders & upsaling if promoted. Closing the call out.

Flexible

Flexible, pick your own hours. Paid by talk time. Pick your hours as soon as they are posted or you won’t get many- or you’ll end up with overnight hours. Good Training.

What is the best part of working at the company?Great company to work for. Mgmt & Supervisors were great. Everyone treated everyone with courtesy & respect. Company offers their friendly weekend competition as well. Great prizes won. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Stress is what you bring in with you. Easy hours & shifts. If you are great with listening to customers & know what you are selling. Everything is a breeze. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?I worked from home. You start taking calls & answer questions. Advise what comes with product you are selling.Once you have given customer info, close the saleVerify all customers info, make sure to verify cc card and advise final total to be charged Thank the customer and hang upGo to the next call. Everyone that works full time is entitled to 2 (15 mins) breaks 1 within the first 3-4 hrs and the 2nd in the afternoonLunch is 1 hrs and all breaks & lunch are scheduled. At the end of your shift, you advised you are done for the day & say "good night" If you have any question while on a call, advise caller you will check with a supv & will right back. Loved this work at home job

Worked for many clients. Could pick how many hours/days I wanted. Always work to do. I moved back to Illinois and they did not hire agents in Illinois due minimum wage was higher than Georgia otherwise I would still be with them

Pros

Great work and pay. Pick your hours.

Cons

They did not have agents in Illinois

Good place to work

I only had one issue with the company and that was concerning time off for loss. After the incident they changed their policy concerning time off but other than that I didn’t have any problems.

I worked from home

The best part was working from home however, most of the time the manager did not want to help. They would get upset if you transferred calls to them even if the customer asked for the manger.

Nice work at home job

I like the company overall but one of the projects for Toys R Us, there was two managers that sent daily papers to update new ways to operate. The 15 page one was ok, then it went to about 30 pages within a day or two, but the 70 page update later that week, was a bit much with no time given to learn it. I exited that project soon after that. Overall it is nice to work at home.

Pros

Work at home

Cons

Some projects are time consuming

Being able to work from home and choosing the hours that is most convenient for you.

A typical work day can be a great productive one. Receiving each call with a smile and willingness to assist every caller with professionalism and a One and Done Manner. Keep a smile on your face. Being able to work from home and choosing your hours is so fitting for any given day. I enjoy assisting every caller .

Not many hours

I didn't like the fact you have to stalk for hours, then asked why you aren't working the minimal. I think I would've enjoyed the job more if it wasn't for the hours.

Easy to get hired

Job interview was easy. Pay was not great with the amount of calls you get a day. Easy scripts to read to customers. Each call had a different script depending what the caller was wanting to buy. Management will write you up for the stupidest things and threaten with termination.

Pros

Easy hire

Cons

Management sucks

Flexible and fair

Wonderful place to work in person, just not morning shifts as the managers are a bit high strung. Great at home, many different assignments but awesome flexibility

Pros

Flexibility with schedule

Cons

Assignment change can lead to less hours if you work from home

It’s a Great Entry Level Job

West at Home called Alorica now is a great entry level job in the work at home role because you do not need a lot of experience. It’s the perfect start to get your foot in the door to learn the basics and take those further there is not room for advancement but it was a rewarding opportunity.

Pros

Pick your hours on your own terms

Cons

No benefits

It was a bad company

It was a typical work at home job where you had to scrounge for shifts and hope you were going to make enough hours to make enough money because the pay was so low.

Pros

Wah, Make your own hours

Cons

Not being able to pick up hours, Pay

Well established and top notch

As a remote worker this was the first company I worked for remotely. I worked on various projects and really loved my time with the company. It’s been a while since I worked for them and I thought they went by another name now but I was asked to give a review and I liked the company enough to leave one

They were a very good company to work for.

One of the best jobs I ever had. Pay was always on time and correct. They gave me all the tools to succeed and advance. Continuous paid training and shift differential.

Excellent

I worked for West for over six years. Provided excellent customer service to the customers. Did six months as a chat coach to help mentor agents on one seasonal ramp up. Worked part time on average 30 hours a week.
