I didn't like the company manager I think he was rasist company don't care will work you lik you have no family at home. A job is a job but when manager don't respect your work ethnic and write you up for not doing something you not suppose to do it's not fair

Management is poor. The pay would be great if supervisors would recognize hard work from sucking up. Rain, sleet, or snow they dont care if you're in it or not, production is a must. Always get blamed for downtime. Overall company could be great, just need to boot the big dogs out.

After reading other reviews, thought I would share mine. West Fraser is a great company. They have outstanding pay and benefits, in return, they expect alot from their employees including working weekends, holidays, night shift, etc. If you want a career and the ability to provide a nice living for your family this is the job for you. Be aware you must have a flexible schedule and a good attitude. The hours are long and the work can be frustrating. Management has their flaws but overall they do what they feel is best.

West Fraser Lumber in Russellville Arkansas is an average place to work. You usually start off low with minimum options for advancement. I have worked there for seven years and just now was able to advance to a sub-management position.
Advancement was based on who you sucked up to not if you could do the job or not. Has good hours but dont expect to have a life outside the company. They will make you work weekends and extra during the week with little to no warning.
Hard work most new guys don't last more than a week or two. the mill has to keep running no matter what. maintenance usually stands around until something breaks "always blame the guy running the machine never the machine itself"
Maintenance Technician/Millwright (Current Employee) – Opelika, AL – January 10, 2017
New management and its poor, they make it pretty obvious they dont care about the employees. I used to enjoy working for this company but it seems to be steady going downhill as far as being a good place to work.
Driver/Operator (Former Employee) – rieglewood nc – May 10, 2016
it was a ok job, some of the machines had to be fixed and replaced so therefore some days I was out of work. A typical day at work would be a all night shift and the entire work crew had plenty of work, sometime management gave us some hassles but overall they was ok to work for. The hardest part of this job was having to work and catch up a jobsite where some employees called out of work, so called for the remaining crew to help out in all departments. the most enjoyable times was sitting around eating with co workers.
Purchasing Manager (Former Employee) – Augusta, GA – January 26, 2015
Typical day was working with stores and maintenance employess ordering and tracking parts. Co-workers were hard working people. Hardest part of the job was not knowing when the day would end. The most enjoyable part was working with different levels of employees.
