This might not be true today as this was years ago. Westfield was an intense, goal oriented company with often times unrealistic expectations which didn't allow for a work/live balance. I have worked in fast paced environments before but nothing like this. I think it is perhaps because I was at Westfield for such a long time and during my time it was generally this way.

The environment in my department was often very reactive instead of proactive. More often than not it was like running around putting out fires instead of preventing the fires from occurring.

From my conversations with colleagues that work there, this is generally no longer the case. Westfield is still a fast paced, demanding company with hard deadlines that need to be met and like anywhere there are unforeseen circumstances that arise and you need to be able to multitask and switch gears. Now in comparison to my tenure there, Westfield has seemed to transformed into a more normal fast paced work environment where they are able to be more proactive instead of reactive which leads to less chaos so that a more constant work/live balance seems to be able to be achieved.

Much seems to have changed in the environment and culture since I left so I hope I am give the correct representation of the company. It is a great company to work for if you happen to be the right fit.
