Escalations Engineer in Fort Lauderdale, FL

The culture at Wheelhouse IT is great, you'll get so used to the people around you it feels like a family but management will take advantage of that feeling when they see fit to persuade you into doing things outside of your job description.

For someone completely new to IT but knows how to work with computers this will be a great place to learn a lot of the technologies that an MSP would be involved with like desktop, application, and end user support. They also allow low level technicians to work on servers and firewalls when supervised which is fairly often so you're able to learn higher level things on a regular basis.

The main problem with the company is that once you've learned most of what they have to offer there aren't any real positions to move up to because most positions do the same jobs as a normal level 2 or 3 help desk technician.

The pay is okay for the work but again once you've learned what they have to offer its best you move on to greener pastures.

Dont recommend for more experienced in the IT field as there is very little room for advancement or pay increase.

IT Support Technician in Wantagh, NY

There is minimal-to-no training once you start your employment with them in the New York office. Huge disconnect with upper management since they're all in Florida, which creates much disorganization and miscommunication. I didn't mind so much the low compensation, but the excessive workload with no sense of guidance nor direction from management, especially when you're learning. Other team members would often complain about troubleshooting issues while on the phone with clients. I often sought for help when I didn't know of a specific problem, and would receive a response about 15-20 minutes after. Did not enjoy my time there.

Was skeptical at first but once you get the hang of everything the people there make you want to stay no matter how hard things may get at times. I recommend anyone looking for experience to work here.

Great work environment. Its a good place to work if you don't have any experience. You will learn alot.

HORRIBLE PAY and work life balance. They expect you to kill yourself working for pennies. If you have bills to pay, forget it. This is not the place for you.

Interview Questions

They didn't ask any technical questions, they were all based on personality like what my favorite book was. They also asked about why I was interested in IT but both the in person and phone interview were very causal.
