Senior Tech in Training in Raleigh, NC
on August 24, 2021
Was with WheelsOnsite for a little more than 4 years. After training, I was able to do about 4 wheels a day. Then after about 4 month, I was able to do 5+ wheels a day. When I was doing 5 wheels a day my pay was over $1000 a week.I had to leave because my family was moving, but I learned a lot.The customers were cool for the most part and my senior tech always helped with any question I had with work or even other stuff

The owners, and team are super cool...I mean like they always help out.I realized you need to put the effort into your schedule to get the most out of your day for both pay and enjoyment. I was paid a floor of 3 jobs a day, if I did 3 or not. But after my 1st month, I was averaging more than 4 jobs a day, so money was good. The hours were easy...I left my house at 7:30 each day, and most of the time I was home by 5

During the interview process management is fairly upfront, however what they don't tell you is how inconsistent pay can be. Pay is all commission based on what you do during the day, and if there's no work well then too bad, no money. You're expected to be at your first worksite by 8, and you're expected to work until 5 or 6, if it's slow then you're basically driving around looking for something to do pointlessly.

Work-life balanceWork-life balance at WheelsOnsite USA Inc is pretty poor. You are paid by the job not by the hour. A good portion of your day you are doing tasks that you aren’t compensated for. Long drives, delays at accounts, fixing broken equipment, training, etc. you run into daily that costs you money in missed jobs and long days. On slow days you are expected to go find more work until all of your accounts are closed for the day. So the company expects you to be doing something for them constantly from 7AM - 5 or 6 PM but they don’t pay for most of that time.Pay & benefitsMy pay and benefits at WheelsOnsite USA Inc isn’t that good for the amount of hours you work. Only get 1 week vacation, no paid holidays or sick time. You do get a company van but it can only be used for work.Job security and advancementIn terms of job security at WheelsOnsite USA Inc, I think its pretty secure as far as they won’t lay you off if your market is slow. It doesn’t really cost them much if there is a slowdown in your area they aren’t paying you unless your bringing in money. They don’t fire under performing employees they just put more pressure on them until they eventually get fed up and quit.ManagementIn general, managers at WheelsOnsite USA Inc they leave you alone for the most part. All they really care about is how many jobs you do and if you are finding new accounts for them.CultureCollaboration with my colleagues at WheelsOnsite USA Inc is pretty minimal. You are working by yourself. If you run into a problem most of the time you just have to figure it out yourself. Management is slow to get back to you if they respond at all.OverallMy experience working at WheelsOnsite USA Inc is its just ok. Its nice that you aren’t micromanaged, but there are a lot of daily frustrations, bad scheduling, difficult customers, you are working outside 95% of the time year round.

A typical work day is fast paced with plenty of work that keeps you in shape. You will learn many aspects of the automotive atmosphere and that good things come with time.
