They hire anybody who applies because they are so desperate for help they can't afford to turn anyone away. The caregivers aren't even Certified Nursing Assistants and the ones who pass medications to residents, they have no real training. They boast it is all on the job training, that's a joke. During a good training schedule a new employee may get 2 shifts of training but they need help so much they train the bare minimum and then you are working on your own. Same thing if you pass out medication to residents, maybe 2 days training, this is on a good day, then you are on your own. As long as there are warm bodies on the floor nobody in management care because they themselves aren't trained to pass meds or help care for residents because they haven't been trained. They hire anyone who interviews and that person stays only a short time because they realize facilities in the area pay better than 11 something an hour to start. They won't even pay their staff to get their CNA license or become a trained medication assistant because they are cheap.
