I’m a produce ATL and currently we require our team members to have open availability. I do try and schedule fairly and obviously help to accommodate any scheduling needs without sacrificing department coverage

I had to work every weekend and only got closing shifts in Portland Maine. But I am over 50. That means you are destined for cleanup duty only. If you are cute and young you will probably be fine.

I think that it depends on the leadership. My TL is very fair and rotates weekend days off between the decorators (I work in the bakery). Also if given notice, they generally will give you what you request off given it's not a holiday. I've been there only 4 months and have had generous amounts of weekends or a Saturday or Sunday off.
