Tough in today's economic climate - pressures don't match up the economic reality.

Work-life balance is decent in most departments. Pay is about average (by the standards of the publishing business, anyway). If that's all you need then Wiley is probably fine for you. Raises are small (less than 3%), and per management are going to be even smaller in the future, if they're granted at all. Atmosphere is grim after years of layoffs and outsourcing with no end in sight. Pleasant colleagues to work with, and not a bad place to work if you're young and looking for your first experience in the business, but for those not in that category, if you have other options, take them.
If you require a work life balance and sensible management, this is not the place for you. Especially if you're in Finance. Great employees are overworked while not so great are left to coast with great pay.
