Customer Service (Current Employee) –  Denver, COOctober 22, 2019
Good place to work, great benefits, very fast paced, always busy, constantly moving. Great group of co-workers. Everyone looks out for one another and the company as a whole is very very huge on safety

Manager Tries - In the End, It's a Call Center
Customer Success Specialist (Former Employee) –  Harmans, MDOctober 15, 2019
Big range in pay, but I was happy. Many complained about it openly and daily.

The culture can get toxic because of whiners/complainers, but there were just as many who were always happy to help. The trick was in figuring that out immediately

Regardless of anything else, it's a call center. Numbers are much more important than solving problems for customers who call in.

Too much work, not enough pay to put up with the Harassment
Sales Manager (Former Employee) –  TexasOctober 4, 2019
Too many managers. Managers lie to you and their managers. Managers breathe down your neck, Barely any support from management team. Low compensation. You're just another number. Unrealistic goals. Managers work 7 days a week to meet goals. Emails from everyone all the time, customer service offered to customers is sub par and poor. Do not go here. You will regret it.
Pros
Lots of managers
Cons
Managers don't help much and pay is not good at all.

Service Technician (Former Employee) –  Hatfield, PASeptember 15, 2019
Do not work here. This place is a joke. Management is usually drunk or absent. Pay is not remotely close for skills they require. Raises do not match cost of living. Unqualified individuals are promoted based on who you know and nepotism, not skills. Don't waste your time.

The job paid very well. Little to no guidance was offered from management.
Branch Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Saint Charles, MOSeptember 12, 2019
Pay was good. Work and home life balance was great! The management team is very disconnected. They do not hold anybody accountable for their jobs. If a task is not completed or completed incorrectly by an employee, they will pass it to the Branch Coordinator to address. This person is ultimately responsible for any and all tasks that other employees dont care to take care of.

Terrible job. (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NCSeptember 12, 2019
Wort place I have ever work at. You will regret it! Micro managing. Drivers are scheduled from corporate and the delivery's are almost impossible to make. All loads are oversized. You should get paid more for this type of work.

Great place to work - bad management
General Laborer (Former Employee) –  Auburn, MEJuly 22, 2019
I was paid fairly - I loved the job. You did something a little different everyday. Some outdoor work, some indoor. In the winter you had a heated warehouse to work in, which was nice. However, when the management changed over it went downhill. The guy that took over was not prepared for the job and it showed. Several 'veterans' left and the new people that were hired were not qualified. A lot of promises were made and never fulfilled, and they let fellow employees treat others badly (in front of management no less) and nothing would be done. A few instances the manger laughed about it. Not professional or okay in my opinion.

Expect 11 hour work days and very little training. Safety culture gets in the way of productivity.
PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (Former Employee) –  Fresno, CAJuly 21, 2019
Willscot provides a barely adequate product for the highest price in the business. This is not a business model that will work for long. Everyday starts with a 30 minute Safety/Production Meeting. Some safety programs are backward or out of date. Regional Vice Presidents are very impersonal and rule their territory with an ever-changing iron fist. They may greatly change work flow or replace managers without warning. Managers above the Branch Level have no understanding of systems or products. If you have not been at the job a minimum of 12 months, your suggestions are not heard. Hourly and temporary workers are seen as easy to swap out. Workers are reminded of this regularly. Temp workers typically don't complete 2 weeks before they are swapped out. Temp workers are poorly screened causing them to lack required skills and work ethic. This is a tough job with little up-side. Payday was the most rewarding part of the job.
Pros
Popsicles when weather is hot, some good people, monthly luncheons, and strong safety culture.
Cons
Excessive safety rules, lack of customer focus, poor customer value proposition, greedy with damage billing charges.

Inside Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Harmans, MDJuly 15, 2019
Steer clear of this company. Micromanaging at an all time high. You are always under the microscope. Coworkers backstab you, and if you're not a top performer, your job is in jeopardy. Job/Life balance is great....if you can keep your job. Good base salary of 45k + 1.25% of everything you lease, but does not make up for the lack of professionalism and lack of support from management.

Collections Specialist (Former Employee) –  Berwyn, PAJune 18, 2019
I learned several new skills but there was no opportunity for permanent employment, let alone advancement. A typical day at work involves making 30 to 50 calls and sending emails to follow up if necessary.
Pros
Free lunches occassionally.
Cons
Constantly shifting assignments

Great place to learn skills but very poor management
Service Technician (Current Employee) –  Perris, CAJune 10, 2019
I have worked at Willscot for 5 years now and have enjoyed my time learning many great skills in all trades. It's a nice work/life balance that makes you feel good to come to work. Unfortunately management has really gone downhill since I first started. I do understand the need for Production supervisors but I do not agree on the poor management that they impose upon all the employees. They tend to have poor communication with their teams or overall no communication at all and only choose to communicate the leads. Apart from poor management their is also no opportunity for advancement at this location unless you know someone closely.

Branch Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Houston, TXJune 10, 2019
No work-home balance, expected to work minimum 10 hours per day, extremely stressful. The training is untelated to the role. Like it was put together by someone who thinks thats what the role should be.
Pros
Good pay, benefits
Cons
Long hours, poor management and leadership
