Bias/favoritism - good place if you play polictics
Analyst (Former Employee) – Orange, CA – November 1, 2013
W&B is a descend company to work for. The owners are nice but since the company has grown, they let those unskilled managers manage based on favoritism. Finance dept. is terrible. So, is IT. Managers & Director of Accounting are bias, favoritism, and afraid to change. Most of them are promoted from staff accountant; therefore, no management skill (clumsy). Recruiting team is unskilled too, except IT recruiter (company just hired new skill ones).
Benefits: vacation-standard; 401K 25% match up to 15% of base salary; sick-6days; holidays-9days + 1 floating. Health insurance: they don't pay much for you (high contribution for you).
Compensation: not very impressive. No bonus.
Workload: new employees got hardest and unwanted duties; existing employees got easy job. Some have time to goofy, some work from morning to night. Workload is not evenly distributed. Unvalued new employees' ideas.
Co-workers: it depends on which department you work for. Some are nice, some are hard to work with.
Director of accounting: heavy accent but work hard. His colleague usually laughed at him during meetings.
Finance meetings: unprofessional. Staffs/supervisors brought cell in meetings and texting or checking phone. They usually are not serious within department.
IT: daily meeting/politics/bad management
HR: the Head of Human Resource is very good with demeaning to her employees and is selective to her own kind. She is director of HR, so she can have her daughter to work for W&B easily.
