Possibly the worst employment experience in my life
Sector Initiatives Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Tacoma, WAJune 5, 2018
There were too many conflicting priorities and directives, and not enough real leadership to help the rank and file staff survive the stressful environment.

While the benefits were good, the price I paid for getting them was too great.
Pros
Union shop.
Cons
Management that did not value the talented people working there.

Professional, dedicated employees
Project Specialist (Former Employee) –  Tacoma, WAJuly 24, 2016
Employees are dedicated workers. Most departments work in teams. The organization is committed to serving businesses and individuals seeking training or employment. Because of new federal legislation the organization recently downsized from 65 to 17 workers. Direct services were contracted out to other organizations. The most enjoyable part of the job was satisfaction derived from serving others.
Pros
Excellent employees
Cons
The organization recently downsized and most jobs were eliminated.

Great mission based work
Workforce Developmwent Manager (Former Employee) –  Tacoma, WAJuly 16, 2016
This is a great organization to work for...at least it was great. Four years ago things changed dramatically with management distrusting the very valuable employees that worked so hard to make the organization great. The work still goes on but the organization recently laid off 72% of its workforce. A really sad statement for an organization with such a great foundation.
Pros
Work that makes a difference
Cons
Management that doesn't trust valueable employees

Office Assistant II (Former Employee) –  Tacoma, WAFebruary 11, 2014
A typical day included greeting clients, both internal and external, answering phones, incoming and outgoing mail.

A typical week would include attending meetings, scheduling meetings, ordering of office supplies and other duties as assigned.

My co-workers were generally friendly and outgoing individuals who took great pride in their work.

The most enjoyable aspect of my job was hearing about the success stories of our clients.
Cons
Federally funded budget led to layoffs
