Case Management (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCJuly 11, 2018
I work at WPO for a little more than a year, there is no room for advancement. The job itself can be very stressful and the pay is extremely low and does not in no way match the cost of living. Management is very out for themselves as are most of the co workers and you’re very much a number never treated as a person.
Pros
Helping people
Cons
Very low pay and terrible management

the turnover is high for a reason
Employee Assistance Program Clinician (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCMay 13, 2018
This EAP lacks appropriate clinical supervision for it's staff and does not appear concerned about reducing risks in liability. Management is more interested in perpetuating workplace drama and instilling fear/anxiety in the clinical staff than actually leading. There is lack of consistency in operating process/procedures and protocol which culminate in what usually looks like a hot mess. The positive of working here is that there are some amazing clinicians who are wonderfully supportive teammates. Management needs to up it's game to be able to retain good clinicians.

Recruiter (Current Employee) –  Raleigh, NCNovember 26, 2017
Great Flexibility and Culture. Pay could be better.

This is a great company to work for if you are looking for a job out of college to build your skill set and resume. Raises are few and far between, but the company consistently hires amazing people and the culture is a great reason to stay.

stressful environment with little opportunity to move around much. Options to grow but limited to whether the person is liked by others. Drama and office politics are always involved but not always.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counselor (Current Employee) –  Raleigh, NCOctober 9, 2017
Hostile working environments should not be tolerated or minimized by management; it's also bad for productivity. The salary is decent but high turnover rate.

PURCHASING MANAGER (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCSeptember 13, 2017
This is a truly great company. The culture is very open and very results oriented. This growing company requires a high degree of initiative from its managers and bases its decisions on performance.

Good mission & people but inconsistent management
Manager (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCSeptember 12, 2017
WPO does great at helping people in need-their customers but can run their employees into the ground trying to run too lean & fast while trying to be 'all things to all clients'.
Pros
On-site gym & other benefits
Cons
Lack of support, enough staff to do the work

Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCSeptember 7, 2017
They are firing people left and right. No job security and poor management. They give advancement to their friends and not to those that are qualified. Turn over rate is crazy high. They say one of their pillars is trust but they aren't loyal to anyone but themselves. If you are desperate apply here, then get out fast. They expect so much but do not want to pay you anymore. It's a glorified call center so run away!
Pros
Free fruit, coffee, and onsite small gym with trainers.
Cons
Everything else

Global Partner Liaison (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCJune 28, 2017
Working at Workplace Options was a truly unique experience. The visionaries that created the company operate it with the same passion that they have put into the products themselves by focusing on the work-life balance of their employees, and creating a positive and relaxed work environment that still meets high demands and hard deadlines.

No flexibility, short breaks, minimal managerial support
EAP Clinical Counselor (Current Employee) –  Raleigh, NCApril 29, 2017
Working in a cubicle surrounded by other clinicians speaking with people who are often in a MH or SA crisis is not ethical or a comfortable work environment. Management does not offer support or take heed to suggestions to make the work environment more bearable and you are pushed to meet quotas and take as many calls as possible without really providing sound clinical work. There is no privacy and other co-workers conversations are often heard in the background when providing counseling. The company promotes wellness of the clients, however, drops the ball severely when it comes to the wellness of the employees.
Pros
supportive co-workers
Cons
no flexibility, short breaks, minimal to no managerial support

Good Starting Position
Senior Consultant (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCApril 18, 2017
Personally, I really enjoyed working at WPO. I know some people complain about micromanagement but I think it largely depends on your department manager. I had a great supervisor who was extremely helpful. I think this is a great job for someone looking to start their career. There is opportunity to grow your professional experience and there is never work that is needed to be taken home. The company values well being but, because it is so large, it is hard to stand out or earn a raise.
Pros
On site gym, daily free fruit, great coworkers
Cons
Stagnant pay, can easily be lost in the large company

Worse Experience Ever
Staff Accountant (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCMarch 15, 2017
This place may look like the bomb to you, like the ideal workplace, but is not. Management will scream at you for no doing what they asked you to do in a timely manner (and when you did not get the proper training for it). Other co-workers will refer to you as a body in a chair, and even make fun of you if you make mistakes. I was even part of a conversation between 2 co-workers staying that I was there just because I was bored at home and waiting to be knock up! Management find out about it, and did not do anything to remedy the harrasment, They do not pay overtime, and the levels of stress are the worse.

Okay place to work short term
Helpdesk Consultant (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCNovember 14, 2016
Great company but management needs alot improvement and experience. There's no compassionate when employees are sick. It's the job first, not the employees that make the company run on a daily basis. You can be working there for years and looked over for alot of opportunities. New employees come in making the same pay you're making and you've been there for years. The make false promises on raises, they even say we don't offer increases..

Counselor (Former Employee) –  Raleigh, NCOctober 30, 2015
Don't look for advancement. Otherwise it's a decent place to get clinical experience and gain knowledge of how to handle clients in crisis.
Pros
supportive co-workers and direct managers, upper management, not so much
Cons
