Solar Technician 1 (Current Employee) – Tehachapi, CA – November 1, 2018
they will have you travel the states, drop everything missing funerals, birthdays, everything. and in 3 years not a single raise. you only move up and get anything if you are one of the supervisors friends.
Solar Technician (Former Employee) – California – October 28, 2018
Work their for a year, upper management was difficult to work with .Lies about pay ; unproven safety regulations .At the end of the day I'm happy to never have to work their again. If your looking for a job and company that cares for wellbeing look elsewhere. Overall is not a place one can grow. Growth is important the future is so bright keep looking you'll find what your looking for .
Lies, no family time, low pay, bad management, people on drugs
Solar Technician (Former Employee) – Tehachapi, CA – May 22, 2018
Company on the ground level works great but your ability to advance is based on the companies ability to secure contracts and in my time there were often unable to do so. Endless delays of when to be sent out for work and scheduled days pushed back. Will change your work schedule on a whim without telling you.
Field Service Technician (Current Employee) – Tehachapi, CA – April 10, 2018
Cons: -Upper management will retaliate if you bring up reasonable safety concerns -Project planning and management is very poor often leading to unreasonable time frames and under staffing - Getting the equipment you need to succeed is like pulling teeth -They never have enough vehicles for techs -Never get back in touch with you or take days to reply - Only give calls when they have complaints - Dont provide neccesary safety equipment in a timely manner - They have no issue lying to you to get you hired , have had several instances of lies told to me - They will send you home with as little as 24 hours notice or less -SEVERE LACK OF COMMUNICATION & PLANNING
Technician (Current Employee) – Everywhere – April 6, 2018
Been with the company for years, they lay off long time workers and hire new people. Pretty sad to be thrown away after so much hard work and time....i liked this company until I got thrown away like a piece of trash with no reason...
When theres work its good.
When theres no work...start looking some where else...they dont care about long time employees.
Laborer (Current Employee) – Tehachapi, CA – February 22, 2018
At WWS the Pay is decent for someone with no experience but for someone who would like advancement opportunities it’s hard to get classes to advance your career and the hours are very difficult on you, leave home at 4:30am and getting home around 5:00pm with no overtime or drive time. Management is decent but overall not a good company to invest in.
Decent workplace, weekly rewards(potlucks on Friday, off early, Ect).
Low chance for advancement, no drive time, and low communication between employees and supervisors.

learned a lot from this company wish I was sent to work more often instead of being put off by the boss in charge the company offers lots of benefits would be a really great company if they had there employees back rather then cutting them down to zero hours of work kind of sucks thought it was a great company in which I always had respect for
Wind Turbine Technician (Former Employee) – Tehachapi, CA – October 17, 2017
A typical day at work was pretty basic. Getting up early in the morning before the sun comes up and having a cup of coffee to help start the day. The crew that I worked with are a good group of guys that are funny and can make the work place a more enjoyable work environment. I learned how to work as a team with my last company and I plan on using these skills with any future employment.
Recruiter (Current Employee) – Tehachapi – July 17, 2017
I worked a corporate job before coming to WWS, the family feel this company has is awesome. From the ownership to the techs WWS cares for its people! The office staff is always there to help the techs in the field. Safety is always top of mind for all employees and the 'here to serve' attitude is something all of the employees live by. Great team to be apart of!
Work Life Balance, Culture, Ownership that Cares for its Techs
Lead Wind Technician (Former Employee) – Tehachapi, CA – July 7, 2017
This is a great job for those that are okay with being away from thier family. Having to watch out for those with you can be difficult because of age and cultural differences. Also an informative job for learning multiple wind turbine types and models.
