Good Company
Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) –  Fullerton, CA 92833July 15, 2018
Easy job, poor structure at times but a great company overall. Had issues with preview manager due to his lack of teaching skills. Would have been helpful to get more training in the beginning.

Not willing to invest.
Systems Analyst (Current Employee) –  WisconsinJune 21, 2018
WS is not willing to invest in training for their employees and then they can't figure out why the equipment isn't performing as expected or as touted by the salesman.

WS is not willing to help the employees develop. Anything you learn, do or get certified for will be out of your own pocket on your own time but they are more than happy to try to reap the benefits.
Pros
Decent Employees
Cons
Zero Investment in Training, Zero C Level understanding of Schedule failings driving poor runs.

Set up Operator (Former Employee) –  Algoma, WIMay 29, 2018
Loved that job while I worked there. It was unfortunate I had to relocate. Manegement was great and press operators were pretty okay to deal with. Great job overall.

Diverse company with complete tool bag of products
Former Employee (Former Employee) –  Green Bay, WIApril 30, 2018
WSPG is a great company to work for. The sales team and sales management teams are excellent and work very well together towards their common goals. The company has a wide range of production assets and locations that serve it well to procure business across the country from a variety of market segments.

The company's only hindrance is the executive leader's inability to harness the power of his production assets and his dictatorial style of management.
Pros
Expert sales team, production assets, and national footprint
Cons
Executive leader, lack of accountability at the manufacturing level

Fast-Paced / "Getting the job done" Environment
Re-Winder (Former Employee) –  Knoxville, TNApril 17, 2018
The typical work day was quick paced and required moderate workload for all workers to cooperatively get product out the door to meet shipping dates and customer requirements.
I learned about the company's ISO 9001 standard of Quality compliance in the printing industry.
I learned about 6S training.
The culture was well-rounded and fun to work in. Everyone basically knew what everyone else was doing.
The hardest part of the job was when the machine operator (like myself) would get Work Instructions from the press operator in which some of the instructions, on rare occasions, did not meet customer requirements before being ran on the next machine before the product went to Quality Control upon review of "finished" product.

Friendly Atmosphere

Productive place with outstanding co-workers
Machine Operator III (Former Employee) –  Franklin, PAApril 11, 2018
It was a great place to work and excel if motivated. Workers care about the product and quality. Company was bought out by another company that restructures and sells it for profit. the hardest part about the job was learning the equipment, training being minimal and expectations high. is a physically demanding job over time.
Pros
co-workers
Cons
8-12 hours a day on your feet only a 20 minute lunch as a break

Estimator (Former Employee) –  Oak Creek, WIMarch 30, 2018
This place has changed over the course of my decades+ career there. Management is all about the almighty dollar. Incentives they offer are slowly discontinued, raises are rare; last one we all received was in 2014 or 2015 and I left in 2018. In the end, my final day was confirmed in an email. If you're looking for a job that views you as a warm body and a '$', this is the place for you!
Pros
Co-workers are about it
Cons
Just about everything else

If you have no life this is the plac e to be
Finisher (Former Employee) –  Mason, OHMarch 23, 2018
The company pays well, but you are over worked. You will work 7 days a week 10 hour plus a day. You will be lucky if you even get one paid holiday off a year. CEO is clueless. Most management is clueless. You work all these hour and sacrifice as the company calls it. But, management has all the time off. When you are sick, there is no excuse they will discharge you even if hospitalized. They do this shortly after you return. No loyalty from this company at all. Shame, three owners that originally owned the company in their garage would be disappointed in it now.

Flexo Press Operator (Current Employee) –  Knoxville, TNMarch 4, 2018
Company has changed hands for the 2nd time in 5 years. New owners seem disappointed in their purchase. Job positions are being eliminated as individuals leave. The local plant I work for is concentrating on new projects and leaving other departments behind.

Material Handler (Former Employee) –  McRae, GAFebruary 15, 2018
Working at Ws Packaging was a nice experience that I would not mind reliving but the only problem I had was sometimes our boss was just a little to nice to the point where some employees would always get there way and leave the workload for the next person to cover.

Business Analyst - Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Green Bay, WIJanuary 28, 2018
WS Packaging Group is dedicated to both its employees and to remaining the industry technology (both from a plant and equipment perspective and a systems/IT perspective.) leader.

Would highly recommend WSPG as career destination.

Track Operator (Current Employee) –  Goodview, MNJanuary 24, 2018
ws packaging has its days just like any other factory. but for the most part its not too bad. when you come into work theres a mandatory 15 minutes stretching period which is enjoyable. there are longer days through the week so that friday can be a shorter day.
Pros
give employees food quite often and reimbursement for footwear
Cons
safety concerns

Not bad if you're a workaholic
Press Operator assistant (Former Employee) –  Heath, OHJanuary 20, 2018
From August until December you will work every single day. If they post voluntary OT sheets and no one signs up, they force you to come in for mandatory 10/12 hr shifts. Jobs are constantly switched around, and there is a lack of an organized schedule. They ask too much of what little they have.
Pros
It's a job
Cons
It's printing

Terrible Management
Press Operator (Former Employee) –  Knoxville, TNJanuary 9, 2018
No good managers in this plant, HR never gets back with any questions or concerns. No straight answers given, rules change daily, repeatedly lied too, and trying to get any issue resolved is pointless. They are reactive not proactive, nothing matters until the last minute when a machine is broke.
Pros
Super relaxed.
Cons
No one cares what is happening.

Senior Account Executive, Eastern Region (Former Employee) –  New England StatesJanuary 2, 2018
WSPG had many different products to offer its clients. They were competitive when they needed to be. As a corporation they were constantly changing -- 4-5 CEO's in as many years.

GRAPHIC ARTIST (Current Employee) –  Fullerton, CADecember 20, 2017
WS has gone through a few metamorphoses. There was an excellent culture building and an emphasis on employee engagement and now there is a swing back. This happens every few years in a cycle, which after a while becomes frustrating.
Pros
stable, pay checks always clear
Cons
not much room for growth, intense fast paced working environment
