The management needs to go
Research Scientist (Former Employee) –  Plainsboro, NJApril 6, 2019
So many employees have left upon the arrival of new director since less than a year ago. It's a typical CRO company, very stressful working environment. Hard working is not get rewarded, more often you would be held accountable for small things like missing of one initial/date during the extra hours/weekends you devoted.
Bottom line is: there is no career improvement here even after many years working here since all technology they used are very outdated.
Many employees hoped to other companies for better job advancement. Nepotism is another fallback.
The turnover rate went from bad to worse since the arrival of new director last year.
Pros
Healthcare coverage, 401k match
Cons
Poor management focusing on small issues rather than whole picture of the business and profit

Step Stone Job not for longevity
Sample Coordinator (Former Employee) –  Marietta, GAMarch 25, 2019
No room for growth at this company you will be stuck in your position if you stay here. They will try to keep you in your same position for years unless you are a favorite. You will do other peoples work because no one likes to take ownership here. Management sucks. They will lie to you in the interview don't fall for it . Most of the previous reviews are very accurate. The pay is not competitive for the area its located in the pay really sucks. Use this place to gain experience and leave as soon as possible. When accepting a job here please do not stop looking else where. If you are fresh out of college this maybe a good first stop for you.
Pros
The people make the environment enjoyable

Poor management and infrastructure
Senior Manufacturing Associate (Former Employee) –  Philadelphia, PAMarch 20, 2019
This organization is very disorganized. They are growing very fast but don't have the infrastructure to support that growth or even their current level. They give you lots of free food, but you will be stuck working a 14 hour day sometimes. In some situations you won't even have your own desk to sit at during down time.
Pros
Free food
Cons
Poor management, infrastructure and systems, disorganized and chaotic

The company does great things. I have learned a lot in all departments working here. The people are great to work with. Turn over is low on the Manager side.

No Work/Life Balance
Manufacturing Associate I (Current Employee) –  Philadelphia, PAFebruary 20, 2019
There is a lack in work/life balance and the hourly rate for most positions are highly underpaid in comparison to other companies. For these reasons there is a high turnover rate, meaning a constant change in culture.

Very unprofessional
Procurement Specialist- (Former Employee) –  Philadelphia, PAFebruary 7, 2019
This company HR or Talent Acquisition Partner is very unprofessional. Always push out the meeting days and cancel without any notifications. Higher managements don't value their employees and disrespectful to the people who are beneath them.

Waste of 5 years
TECH (Former Employee) –  Saint Paul, MNJanuary 30, 2019
The management doesn't take their employees seriously. They treat them as if they are completely replaceable even though the deparrment I worked in was never completely staffed. They make you feel as if you're valuable one minute then turn arlund and say they will figure it out without you. They don't care much about work life balance. They expwxt you to make them you're #1 priority no matter what. I loved my co workers but being treated that way for 5 years has taken its toll on me and I am now thinking of leaving that particular career niche because of wuxi.

Don't get stuck here
Manufacturing Disinfectant Associate (Former Employee) –  Philadelphia, PAJanuary 9, 2019
I came into this job as contract to hire and from the beginning it was not what was initially described. Managers talk in circles when asked specific questions. Constantly being told what "new and exciting" things are happening but never seem to be apart of them. If you have your degree get some experience here for resume sake then get out. I was hired under a different group and was actually overqualified but I gave it a chance being fresh out of college and I regret it so much. Depending on who likes you, you can get away with whatever. At this point I feel like this job is holding me back because there's nothing else I can learn in this department.

Fun but stressful working environment
Quality Assurance Auditor (Former Employee) –  Mendota Heights, MNDecember 4, 2018
A typical work day was a brief meeting in the morning to figure out our assignments, Attend audits and review reports. I learned the science behind every safety tested product. Management was very fair. Workplace culture was professional. The hardest part of the job was reviewing reports. Being able to understand what they were testing and verifying their work. The most enjoyable part of the job was free meals for quarterly meetings.

Great pay and benefits

Associate Laboratory Technician (Former Employee) –  Philadelphia, PANovember 13, 2018
Worked here for one year in two different roles. The pay and benefits are substandard. Promotions are rarely heard of. Systems are still heavily reliant on paper and the daily ops are a total grind.

Fast Paced Rapidily Growing Global Company
Director (Current Employee) –  USAOctober 19, 2018

Scientist I (Former Employee) –  Plainsboro, NJOctober 19, 2018
Many employees are cut throat and not caring whats so ever. I had many experiences in which my work was hindered because of an employee feeling they were more important and didn't care what happened to my samples in the process. Many times I would be remanded for no perfect work because they only wanted perfection.

Micromanagement of everything
Scientist (Current Employee) –  San Diego, CASeptember 25, 2018
Upper management in China micromanaged everything. In the US they will take hiring a incompetent Chinese speaking scientist over an competent English speaking one. Americans are lazy view of things from across the pond.

Great Colleagues but Frustrating Management
Senior Specialist (Current Employee) –  Philadelphia, PASeptember 13, 2018
Working at WuXi AppTec in Philadelphia is a great company for those just starting out in the life science industry. There are always new and exciting projects occurring, and overall the people are great to work with. There are employee recognition awards and events, as well as additional perks.

However, the most frustrating aspect about working at WuXi is that internal people are passed over for promotions for outside candidates. The ones that are promoted at WuXi are so due to seniority and not based off of accomplishment.

The company takes a reactionary stance to most challenges, versus being proactive and anticipating problems/issues. This does mean that it is hardly ever boring at WuXi, but it can be frustrating when you go through a highly stressful situation with the same individuals repeatedly.
