Xcel Energy 401k is above average. There are no sick days allowed which poses more of a problem for XE to retain agents. XE has a high deductible insurance program with no alternative choice for an 80/20 insurance program. XE's insurance program is not for those who have life illnesses that require lots of doctor visit and prescriptions. Those who don't have life illnesses rarely meet the standard deductible.

PSCo offers defined benefit pension at this time as well as decent 401k match. SPS only does a 5% cash balance type pension and not as good of 401k match. i would avoid the texas/nm section if possible
