Day shift is split into A and B, with each working three 12 hour shifts and a half day on Wednesday split between the 4 shifts. However we've been on mandatory overtime since March which makes it three 12 hour days and three 8 hour days. Frequent schedule experimentation leads to confusion and frequently we arent told about mandatory overtime till the very last minute.

New employees (drivers) there's not schedule, you must call everyday for your start time. In Christmas they can give you the chance to drive almost every day, after that you will be on the dock 95%, freezing dock by the way.

It varies by terminal and which shift you work. As a current Dock Worker at XPO, I have worked both Inbound (early morning/loading trailers for city drivers) and Outbound (afternoon to nights/loading trailers for Linehaul drivers). I started off part-time as an outbound dock worker, working 4:00pm to about 8:30-10:00pm Mon-Fri. Full time is usually 1:00pm start time. After about 5 months I became full time and was moved to inbound after one of the full time dock workers got his CDL and became a driver elsewhere. My hours typically as an Inbound dock worker are Mondays 12:00am to 9:00am and Tue-Fri 3:30am-12:00pm. Some days you start a little earlier or get out earlier depending on the amount of freight we receive each day and how quickly drivers get back.
