Most upper management are paid well. One of the most important positions are Membership Associates. They are the first impression when you enter a Y. They are paid the least and are expected to produce the most. Some supervisors and middle management place certain rules to follow for the employees, but can't be a role model and follow themselves. There is a lot of turn over in the membership department and may continue due to poor wages and lots of expectations. Moving up in the company is all in who you know and if they like you. Your skills don't matter. On a positive note, It's very rewarding meeting members and watching them meet their fitness goals.
