Receptionist (Former Employee) – Dallas, TX – November 5, 2015
I was bored, and the office manager had strict control over all duties. Management was ineffective. I liked the culture; this is an orthodox Jewish high school. The teachers and students were a real joy, but the other personnel were not.
High School Teacher (Current Employee) – Dallas, TX – February 25, 2018
Yavneh Dallas is a Jewish private school with 90% teachers + administrators are Jewish. A.M. classes are all Judaic studies taught by Rabbis. Secular classes in the P.M. Number of school days < 180 due to Jewish holidays. Seniors end school year by mid April due to March of the living trip. Chemistry laboratory is okay. Classrooms are all with smartboards.
Very uptight management; no teamwork; not allowed to do any real work. Office manager is a demanding and downright cruel person.
Typical day first person in office but not allowed to have a key. I learned nothing except about Judaism which was interesting. Main co-worker was office manager - demanding, sadistic. I was only allowed to go to a doctor's appointment at beginning of day or end of day. I worked from 7:45 to 5:15, took about 15 min for lunch, and no breaks and was not paid overtime or allowed to use extra time as personal time. Hardest job was putting up with her; best part of job was dealing with students and teachers. Absolutely no respect for Hippa laws, discussed co-workers' medical and personal problems in public.
no concept of hippa law, no tolerance of medical problems, even very slight
