  • Be open and honest about how you feel about children. Make sure you are comfortable with taking a drug test.

  • Arrive early, be poised and prepared for anything.

  • Know how to fund raise and as much as possible and about 501 3c's

  • Say youve had child watching experience

  • I dressed normally as I usually would do on my daily.

  • Don’t give your blood sweat and tears for this place. It’s been embraced by the other big corporate cogs and is slowly going downhill. You will bring programs out of the dumps, and they’ll just misappropriate funds and relocate to another location without any ramifications. I grew up going to the Y as a kid and it should’ve stopped there. The Y doesn’t help communities when it doesn’t even help its own staff. Steer clear of this “non profit “.

  • Don't show up, not worth it

  • Have a passion with working with kids

  • Make sure to allow time for yourself and work for only 8 hours a day as required. If othes do not live up to their role and reponsibility, then cancel classes or program for the day and deal with that employee so it does not put added pressure for you to do more work.
