Decent job
Maintenance Technician (Current Employee) - York, SC - March 17, 2020
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIncludes a lot of doing other people's jobs and being critiqued on things they didn't do. Working while others sit around. Pay is not a lot for the work and people you deal with.

The worse work environment I have ever experienced. Be very careful and aware.
Former Employee (Former Employee) - York, SC - October 5, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The participants. The ability to be of service to others is the only reward working here. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The lack of fairness, due to favoritism and personal relationships between the Director and some staff. Unequal and unfair workloads and salary's. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Junior high school work environment. Director and staff engage in gossip about other staff and clients routinely. The most unpleasant group of people I have ever worked with. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Stressful. Often spent avoiding negativity and gossip.

Need better pay and management
Caseworker (Current Employee) - York, PA - April 29, 2018
The staff is laid back and fun but the workload is unmanageable. The pay is too low for the job and management is at times unprofessional and does not lead by example. Most people are thrown into a position before they've received proper training. Turnover is high.
Pros
Friendly staff, work is not hard
Cons
Unmanageable workload, poor training and pay for job, poor leadership

Work not difficult supervisor really good guy to work for
Maintenance Mechanic (Current Employee) - York, SC - April 9, 2018
Not a bad place to work. Raises aren't good, training difficult to receive. There is no pay increase for certifications earned. On top of that communication between management is not great. An the benefits such as time off are being taken away.
Pros
Fairly laid back staff, aslong as you complete your work in a timely manor
Cons
Pay raises not great

Hard working, mission directed organization
Executive Director/Administrator (Former Employee) - York, PA - November 16, 2017
YHA has some dedicated staff however many lack requisite training and educational backgrounds for the positions held. The politically assigned board is also lacking skills, education and experience needed to guide policy and rather engages in the petty.
Pros
Great mission, good building stock, tremendous demand for services.
Cons
Aggressive under-educatied staff, inappropriate board composition, past failed budgeting prioritizations

Work Review
Maintenance Technician (Current Employee) - York SC - January 7, 2015
Outstanding Job to have. Work is hard and stressful but great feelings come about with job accomplishments. Unfortunately hard work is not appreciated. Definitely not a place for a career as stated by Executive Director. Company Policy does not reflect potential advancement opportunities.
Pros
Stay Busy
Cons
Hard work not appreciated
