Transparent & horizontal structure; space for growth

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Working within this small-business/team, I have numerous opportunities to cross-train with the guidance, trust, and support of everyone. I've gained a plethora of skills both technical and soft - especially with confidence in my work. The hardest part for me was when I first started; I never worked in this type of structure/company culture. I learned to be a self-starter and sharpen up my communication strategies due to not having a direct supervisor. I also learned to not be shy about giving others feedback as that is how we learn and grow as individuals, as teams, and as a company. I feel a sense of belonging and that my work is valued from not only my direct co-workers, but from the whole team. I appreciate the cultivated, connected environment and importance of transparency throughout multiple aspects of the company.

Pros

Amazing team members, space to learn new skills, transparency, small teams, flexible schedule

Cons

Fluid and quick changing of priorities, but always forward moving

An unfortunate decline for a company that had promise.

The culture that management was trying to grow, was never followed through. The idea that quality was job #1, faded over a very short time to become “if you don’t see the flaw from 6’ away, the client won’t either”.Working for the last 3.5 years without a raise, then being told I had to fill out a questionnaire and be interviewed by a panel to prove my worth to qualify for a raise was a cop-out.

Pros

There aren’t any pros

Cons

Too many to list

Best company I've ever worked for

Zenbooth is one of those companies that you find as a one in a million. They operate with a totally different kind of company structure than most companies in the US, and it's been so refreshing to work somewhere that I have both the autonomy and empowerment I need to make a big impact. The team is really welcoming, friendly, competent, and everyone tries to avoid any drama or weird power dynamics. I have always felt heard and seen by everyone here - there's a big emphasis on compassionate communication, and you can see it has definitely paid off in the way everyone treats each other. The business owner and other top leadership all really seem to care about and respect their staff more than any other company I've worked with too. Everyone who works at Zenbooth contributes their own flavor to the company, and what's amazing is that they strive to make sure no one's unique voice goes unheard or unvalued.I feel really grateful to be able to work at a company with a team that challenges, supports, and has fun with me at every step of the way.

Pros

autonomy, respect, vulnerability, fun

Challenging Work with Great People

Zenbooth is a company solving a legitimate workplace problem. When I worked there, we had tight-knit teams that are very hands-on with their work. The company culture was inclusive and caring, I genuinely felt like part of the team. It is a small company, meaning your thoughts and ideas will be heard. I had genuine co-workers and leadership that felt like family. While at Zenbooth, there was always lots of work to be done, and it's a great place to gain experience.

Creative workplace that encourages growth.

Zenbooth actively encourages its employees to learn/develop new skills. I've never had a job where cross-training was so encouraged, or where my voice felt so heard. Management honestly welcomed all ideas, which was very refreshing. Also, all my coworkers were genuinely nice people.

Avoid this place at all cost!!!

I worked early on helping build this company and worked directly for the CEO. Never have I worked for such a dishonest and deceptive scumbag! Everybody that helped him in the beginning got stabbed in the back and left the company out of frustration(more than a dozen of us). Very low pay for the area, very unhealthy corporate culture from management and no opportunity for real advancement. They will constantly ask you to do more work but never give titles or pay increases. Poorly managed with too few workers so they would hire day labourers and pay them more than production staff! Easily the worst place I have ever worked and the worst people I have ever worked for, especially the owner!

Pros

A lot of the production staff are good competent people who unfortunately get taken advantage of

Cons

Very low pay(not living wage for the area), very poor benefits package for production, constantly monitoring cameras waiting for you to screw up once, extremely poor management, cut throat corporate culture
