So, I've been offered a contract attorney position. I graduated in 2015 and am licensed in two states. I've had a lot of trouble finding a job. I want to do immigration, but I'm currently working on my Spanish and not yet fluent. I've had a part-time position for about a year. Was 250 a week for 15 hours, moved up to 500 a week for 30 hours. I think this is pretty low, even with my lack of experience? Anyway, I've just been offered a three month full-time contract position with the hopes to hire...

I graduated with a bachelor's in education (2006) and was considering going to law school; since it's a crazy expensive investment and a lot of work, I wanted to get a feel for job opportunities after. I'd hate to commit 3 years of my life and thousands of dollars to end up spending months and possibly years on sites like this looking for work 🙂 Any thoughts? Thanks!
Has anyone take the written skills test during an interview to be an attorney with the City of Chicago? I have an interview scheduled and I have no idea what to expect.
I have been an attorney for over 15 years. I am looking for an alternative legal career (i.e. unicorn), but get depressed when I look for such employment. I have tried insurance, real estate, sales, really anything that I can break into without considerable hardship or paying substantial dues. Believe me, I have paid my dues and wasted enough money on my education. However, I am finding that my age or experience is possibly making this a difficult, if not impossible, transition. I knew if I got ...

I am pretty "old" (21) and am barely going to have my associates in science. I would like to know: did you start volunteering at/working at a law firm before going into law school, during, or after? Was it a law firm? And how fast did you pay off your debt?
Has anyone heard anything about the waitlist at the Cook County State's Attorney's Office? I have been on the waitlist since May of 2012. I know that a lot of people have been hired off of the waitlist in the last 6 months. The letter that the office sent me last May said I will be on the waitlist till November of 2013. Has anyone heard about movement on this list? Any info or rumors would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Everyone,I was recently terminated from employment (of over two years) at a local children's hospital. During my lunch hour, a bully in the workplace (who hated me passionately) came up into my face, I felt threatened and told the bully to step away or I might punch her in the face. I was immediately terminated because HR felt I threatened the employee. After an investigation, the bully was also terminated (had done this before).I am an african american female and the bully is also an afric...
I'm a 54 year old engineer with a business degree. I went to law school about 25 years ago, but switched to get my engineering degree instead. In the years since then, I've come to realize how legal considerations are prominent and often determinative in much of the work I do, and I've thought of going back to get my law degree.I had pretty good LSAT scores, and I'm sure I could get into a second tier school, but I couldn't really handle working for someone else for very long.Is it even possible...
I would like to apply for contract attorney positions, including document review work. It is my understanding (I may be wrong) that placement agencies do not supply legal malpractice insurance, and the hiring law firms' insurance policies will not cover contract attorneys unless specifically named, especially for those future (tail) years when claims could still be filed. Is it reasonable to think that malpractice insurance coverage should be obtained as a prerequisite for contract work? If y...
I've been working with lawyers for years. I'm considering law school. I'm studying for the LSAT this Sept. and depending on that, I may go ahead and go to school next fall. I know about how law offices work, etc. My biggest worry is that I will absolutely hate the work.So... for you practicing lawyers out there, what do you regret? What do you wish you knew then that you know now? What would you have done differently? Thanks in advance.
We are a small company that just got a purchase contract terminated by another bigger company. I would like to know if we have any legal reclause, will someone help us? I am in Los Angeles.

Any suggestions on which NASD Series License is best for an attorney? I hear that Series 7, 24, and 63 are the ones to go for. Is that true? Which one is an Attorney most likely to use?
I am an experienced attorney who is starting up my own law practice representing clients in Social Security Disability cases (I have down this before). My Question: Anyone out there know about representing veterans who are denied disability benefits by the Veterans Administration? The laws on collecting attorneys' fees have changed (which I do know about) - but I want the low-down from someone who is already doing this. Thanks!
A good litigator in employement law needed tomorrow in Haralson County. Anyone want to make a quick $1500 nearly guarenteed? Case involves earned vacation pay owed by former employer. I'm the employee and I have end of year pay stubs stating "available vacation" for the past four years. The former employer refuses to emburse for earned vacation. Should be open and shut, right?
My work called me in 2 weeks ago to go for a drug test which I thought was a random since I've been there for 2yrs and have never been called in. But instead they said that they had a phone call once a week for three weeks saying that I should be tested from an unknown person.I went and of course it came back negative, but I've been told that resonable suspicion will stay on my record because I drive a truck. Is this TRUE? And if so can I do anything about it because I looked in the Federal Driv...
