Greetings. I'm already studying MOS study guide exam 77-730 (Access). I printed the webpage Microsoft publishes giving the overview of what will appear on the exam, so I know what to focus on.My question: what other books/study guides/study material are available? I'm not satisfied with the book mentioned above (and it's published by Microsoft, how disappointing is that). I won't go into all my reasons, that's not the focus here, but I strongly believe I need something tougher and more inde...
Add a Label: Type a Job, Company, Location and/or Other in the boxes below (i.e. chef, Hilton Hotel, and Orlando, FL) and click "Search". You may only add one job, company, and location label per search, but multiple "other" labels.
Delete a Label: You can remove "Other" labels one at a time by clicking the "x" next to the name. Or, remove all the filters at once by clicking "Clear all labels".
Hey all. The care center where I volunteer is considering Volgistics for keeping track of volunteer information. Does anyone know whether it can do things that Access can't? What makes it special? I know it's widely used but don't know any user personally. Signing up for a free 30-day trial is an option, but hoping I won't have to go there . . . .
How did you get your start doing data analyst work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?Do you need a particular educational background?
Hello, I have 10 years experience using Excel, Access and a proprietary database at a organization with about 50 employees. I do data entry, generate reports and telephone customer service. I would like to move to a more formal data analyst position. Currently I am considerering two pathways. I could teach myself MySQL, Python (which I am learning) and other tools and search for a job on my own time while at my current job, or I could attend a Masters program in Statistics for two years, have co...
I am a biologist with 8 years of data analytics experience using both SAS and R. I have SQL querying capabilities. However my resume says "Biologist" and my training has been rather informal (no statistics degree, but grad courses and workshops and mostly self-taught). I've been trying to get into data analytics positions and so far had many close-calls (second interviews etc) but never an offer mostly because I don't have the official credentials or that I don't have much industry experience. A...
I posted this before and didn't get a reply, so I thought I'd ask it again. How would you suggest making the switch from education to data analysis? I work a lot with data in my current role (analysis, sharing reports, trends, etc.) but would like to find something outside of the educational world. I've looked into other certifications (SQL) but wasn't sure what was necessary. Thoughts?
How do would you recommend making the change from a career in education to one in data analysis? I've been a classroom teacher, a principal, and am currently doing some data analysis with student test scores.
Hi, I am currently employed as an Information support Analyst by the company I work for but I feel, and it has been agreed by them, that my job title does not accurately describe exactly what I do, more of a M.I. Administration role. I would really like to be able to develop my skills as this is an area of work that I would like to progress within but have no idea how to go about it. I currently only have Excel database experience, use of functions, pivot tables, V Lookups etc for compilation o...

I've got an interview for a data integrity analyst post i applied for internally within the company i work for. I'm going in cold as i've never applied for such a job before. My manager thought it was a good idea because i've been after a change, he spotted i'm excellent with maths, and i recently took a management analytical test and scored very highely. i know the company, and i've spoken to the manager about the post, asking questions about his job and to explain in more detail what the data ...
