honestly its a great skill to have but you have to make sure he is prepared for the unemployment. Its always up and down. My husband is currently unemployed and same with ALOT of his friends that he's met on job sites. Before he makes the step to becoming one that he knows that being an electrician means work isn't always constant. I know a guy who was an electrician for 35 years. He was injured on the job and now has physical disabilities which hinder him from working in his customary trade. husband is layed off for 3 months. he finds it hard at this time to get a job because of the economy being at low point. when their is a job to apply for he gets the impression that no one wants him because of the age of 63. if anyone cares to reply, please do. he has experience of 15 years and i think it's a crying shame a skilled person such as he can't work a few more years and then retire.

well its tax time again and i have a few questions for some of your traveling electricians. 1)my first time on the road, about 8 months of 2008, i have been in las vegas for about 7 months and have most of my recipts and alabama for a month, permanent residence is in georgia.
