After working as an operator for eight years I gained enough mechanical knowledge to transition to maintenance. I then went to school get understanding of the electrical side. So, at this point I can write logic program HMI, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical. I get at least 5 to 6 calls a week from recruiters with $18-$23 an hour position. My question is if this field is in such high demand, why isn't the wages higher?
