I was employed in an Emergency Room for 3 years as Ward Clerk...I LOVED it! Now I am thinking of Certification as Medical Assistant. Can someone tell me the benefits over LPN?
I want to know is being a medical assistant worth it? Is it a good entry level medical career or no? I currently work at a hospital in Fort Lauderdale Florida as a clerk && I’ve been there for 8 months. When i first started I liked it & it was a exciting job. But as the months have passed i want to do more. I want to go back to school for nursing but I want to be 100% confident in my decision to do so. I’ve been getting mixed opinions on the medical assistant certification. So I’mOpen to know yo...

Has any one done the Medical Assistant state exam and have not passed it on the first try?
Hello! I was trying to find information about this very subject for a while and getting a bit frustrated that I didn't get the answers I'm looking for. Maybe hopefully the community here can point me to the right direction.I'm currently completing doing my MA certification at a technical school while doing my job as a front desk receptionist (currently 2 years in this position). I am going to look for a position shortly to have my footing on the door to this beginning of the medical field. And o...
Thanks for your reply. So you have had no problems with the certification being legit? They offer a home study refreshers course I want to take prior to taking the exam. I will be living here in Michigan until Jan. 2009 and moving to Orlando Forida and don't want to have any problems. I want to work in OB and go back to school for an ultrasound tech, just don't want to waste money I could have used for some pre-req classes. Thanks again.
I have recently enrolled at the Institute of Technology for their Professional Medical Assistant Program. This is a 9 month program. After the program they pay for the CCMA-AC exam. I don't understand the difference between the CCMA-AC exam and the CMA exam.....which would be better for job searching? I can't take the CMA Exam because it doesn't look like I.O.T. is accredited for that exam. I start Jan. 19th. Am I making a mistake? Thanks.
I'm female,in my early 30's,and an Introvert(INTJ) but I can fake it till I make it just fine.I have a BA in journalism. I have some medical knowledge by being in a LPN program, but I didn't get to finish.I know the medical field is more lucrative and steady so what about these careers. My true thoughts are either a Librarian or Medical Records and Health Information Technician.I wanted to get a Masters in Library Science, but the field scares me monetary wise.Medical Records and Health Information...
I am looking for any clinic or medical office that is willing to accept me to do my externship. I have had one interview and when that was over I was told to call the next day and he would let me know the time and place to report, when I did call him back his reply to me "Don't call me I will call you" why give me a positive response on the interview then you slap me in the face with a response like don't call I will call you.
So please don't judge me. I am 20 years old and when I turned 18 I was an adult actress in hardcore movies...I heard that for medical assisting they do a background check. Mind you all the work I did was 100% legal in Los Angeles and I used a fake name. I have not one misdemeanor or felony on my record it's completely clean. I did pay taxes on the work I did and was listed under "model" I am just making sure that I will not run into any problems or be denied for anything with a background check....
Hello,Is there is anyone with information about refresher course class in medical assisting in the state of Washington, I graduated in 2009 then we weren't required to be certified. could you please shoot me a email. ***********Thank you
I wanted to know who and where they offer medical Assistan refresher course
3 months? Hardly. That sounds like cna more like. The shortest any MA program should be is 8 months, and that's pushing it. If it's 3 months, you are getting ripped off. Dont go for it. A good program is bettween 8 and 15 months. 2 years sounds like LPN.
They said they are accredited through the NHA www.nhanow.com/home.aspx but they have no corporate office and there is one female that answers phone if you ask to speak to someone else she doesn't let you. Students pay $150 deposit through pay pal they will charge $2999 to over $5,000 to take these 14 week certifications all home study online for ma, patient care tech, surgical tech, phlebotomy, ekg, IV, medical lab. They offer no financial aid & work out a payment plan that requires you to pay m...
I just finished a phlebotomy training over a month ago and still waiting to do my externship. I want to start working and earn an income, I've been searching but most employers are looking for individuals who are already certified. I want to do my externship ASAP to have the ability and experience needed not only to find a job but also to take the certification exam and get things moving my direction. Can any one please tell me of hospitals/clinics who are more than welling to open their doors a...
I have previous office management experience, but, am looking for a career change. The obvious thought was billing and coding, however it appears LPNs can make the same money with less schooling. Can I do both? Or does anyone know anyone who has done both? What, if any benefits? What, if any kickbacks?!
