I am willing to live anywhere in CA and go to LVN school, I know a lot of the Colleges have pre-reqs and long waiting lists, I can't do that, I'm a single mom and want to enter this field sooner than later. So that leaves me with the more expensive Private LVN schools, I know in L.A they are very expensive. Since I am looking to move in a different part of CA, I'd like to know if there are any LVN programs that I can finish in less than 15months that's affordable (NO waiting lists etc). PLEASE...
LOOKING FOR LVN PROGRAM
I've been waiting for the board to decide my case. I have a theft misdemeanor from 12 years ago. No other convictions. I sent the LVN board my paperwork about the conviction in the beginning of Sept 2010. It's been over 8 weeks of waiting and I have not heard yet. I passed my board a few weeks later. Now I'm wondering how many of you have gotten your license from California LVN board with a misdemeanor and MOST importantly how long did you wait for the answer from the LVN board. I really want to...

I'm thinking of going to Gurnick Acendemy for the LVN Program, and would love to hear thoughts from anyone who's attended. From what I hear, it seems to be quite expensive ($29,000+), but fast paced and no waiting list. Any current/future students please let me know the up's and down's of going to Gurnick vs attending Fresno/Clovis Adult School. Thanks. 🙂
I know someone who had to hire a lawyer to help on clearing her name

Hi all:I am in San Diego county and have looked into programs here, in orange county and riverside county for LVN programs. I did look at RN programs as well, but really can't be in school that long for now. I am looking to get done in a year to year and a half. I am a good student and am ready to work hard and learn. I have a degree in another field. Can anyone recommend the best school? Most Community Colleges have long wait lists, though I have heard north orange county ROP is a good school. ...
I'm a L.V.N. in S.D.,CA. and I'm trying to get into a L.V.N. to R.N. program fast. I challenged the board for my license and didn't go to a formal L.V.N. school. I got trained in the U.S. Navy and only California recognizes the Navy program. Most R.N. school's want you do be a graduate of a L.V.N. school. Any suggestions!
I have a friend that is currently in school in Dallas. She has stated that in the next few yrs that there will not be any LVN positions open. Only RN positions. I think shes a nerd and that who ever the source is has to be equal. Because I know that every where I look it seems like cities/states are screaming about a nursing shortage. I know the differences between RN & LVN but a nurse is a nurse. And to do away with one makes no sense. That would require everyone to go thru RN school which is l...
hi guys!i’ve been wanting to be a nurse for years now. i am on the verge of attending unitek in concord, ca and was wondering if it’s a scam? it’s only a year to become an lvn, the nclex is part of the tuition cost. it just sounds too good to be true. no prerequisites, you basically pay for your license. it’s perfect for me because science is so hard for me and i can’t survive financially as a caregiver. i don’t care where i work in the future as long as i’m helping people-care home, hospice, et...
Help!! I am currently thinking about going back to school I am currently 21 years old I have a PT time job and I am considering of taking the 50 credits diploma/certificate for the LVN/LPN program. Is it worth it at this point? Also is it possible to go from an LVN/LPN diploma to a RN diploma then to a BSN? any help would be great thank you! Also the school I will be attending is not a trade school since those are scams. I will be attending Riverside Community College in California.
Hi guys,I'm an LVN working at a 91 bed LTC/Nursing Facility in California. One of the night shift nurses left and so I was assigned to work nights temporarily. I was wondering if it's normal practice for a facility to only have 2 LVNs at night and no RN supervisor. Im very stressed lately since if something would have happened, emergency etc. We get no help doing the paper work. On top of that we also need to do our medpass on time, charting, and some additional chartings our facility requires. ...
I am interested in starting at Dallas Nursing Institute in August, taking the night/weekend program. I'm really interested in finding out what the course load is like, how the each of the quarters are split, how are clinicals....all the good stuff the school won't tell you. I am a Medical Assistant now trying to advance my career, and this school seems like the best fit for me. I've researched Concorde and Platt and there is NO way that I can go to any of the community colleges. I would just hat...
i have a conviction and am scared ..hitless about applying for my board exam. are there any blog sites or info clearing house for poeple with prior convictions with regards lvn licensure. I was recently charged with a misdemeanor and I am due to renew my license in about 4 months. I am really worried that they will not allow me to renew my license. I have been an LVN for 4 years now and I have an amazing job. If I can't renew my license I will lose my job and I am not sure what I will do. I am also going to school to become a registered dietitian and am worried that this might interfere with me getting my dietitian license. But currently my concern is with my LVN license. This wa...
