I've completed my course in Phlebotomy and received a certificate. How are you supposed to get a job as a Phlebotomist, when no one is willing to hire you even as a trainee or to have an apprentice type position to start to see if you could do the job?
I live in baltimore, maryland and I finished school for phlebotomy not too long ago. I even got my national certification because I thought that it would help get hired quicker. But no one will call me for an interview and I've been applying everywhere. Does anyone have any advice on what to do just to get some experience? Do hospitals offer volunteer work, or how does that work? How did you current phlebotomist get your jobs?
You are allowed to make two attempts before getting help, however, if the patient asks for someone else after the first attempt, and the phlebotomist/nurse makes another attempt anyway, he/she can be charged with assault and battery.
I am more mad at myself for not doing more research before paying all that money for my license. I went to the school on Bradley Street, as well. I finished first with great grades and can't even get a response for all the resumes out there. I truly, believe each school should show statistics for hiring and don't bother going to them or paying the money unless, they assist in job placement. That'll put most of them out of business and the scam is over! I can't even volunteer anywhere for t...

Hello CLS hopefuls and CLS professionals, Can any of you please share your opinions - or, even better, your personal first-hand experience - of getting a medical certification like phlebotomy (or something else) before applying for a CLS program? I'm asking because I am thinking about get the phlebotomy certification so I can work before I can apply for the CLS program. I was told a CLS admission officer that typically, the program only accept applicants with an undergraduate degrees under their...

I am in the process of starting my own phlebotomy business and would like to know if anyone has any idea of how I could build my clientele.
I worked for Exam one and cancelled my contract with them years ago. Upon cancelling my contract I sent a very detailed email to the exam one office along with the office over that location. In the letter I explained all the reasons I had cancelled my contract the office manager being the main reason. Fast forward almost 5 years later, I was approached about doing directs from a agent. I contacted 2 direct billing companies out of state about billing. Both billing companies stated exam one had m...
Hello everyone. I've been on disability for about 6 years due to Bipolar disorder. I want to eventually go back to work and gain back my self esteem. So I'm looking into Phlebotomy schools. There is one near my house called "Phlebotomist training Specialists". I live in the Sanfernando Valley CA. But this school doesn't mention Job placement. There is a school that mentions job placement in L.A but the drive is kind of far for me. However I may be willing to drive for a better school. So are ther...
Hi, two years ago I finished my certification exam from the NHA and got the California license 4 months later. Certification renewal is coming up and I'm quite lost as what to do. The CDPH says that I need 6 contact hours of CE but does not mention anything about renewal through the NHA. If anyone has any information that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
My first time to renew my State CPT license. There is a part on the renewal form that is asking for "certificate/license number." But my California CPT card doesn't display any number on it, just the logo of CDPH and my name stating that I was certified.Though my National license has a number displayed on the card. Could it be that same number that the State license is asking?!Thanks to whoever can help me on this -__-'
I took a Phlebotomy class in St. Louis and moved to Ga I took a refresher class in GA I was wondering if I was eligible to just go ahead and start applying for jobs or is there a step I'm missing someone please help.
I got my license 4 years ago, and worked for a year. I then went back to school so the license has since expired. I've tried calling to find information but haven't gotten through to anyone. Do I just have to make up my continuing education credits and pay my renewal fee to get my license back?
Can I sue a medical institute for false promises?Like every other college student I'm trying to make ends meet working three jobs. I simply grew tired and wanted to better my life by going to a allied health institute that promised me up front clinical and internship hours after I graduated. I studied and I never was late in a payment and for them to toy me around almost two full months to find out they don't offer clinical hours at all nor do they offer internships. I'm currently stuck without ...
Hello, user hailing from New England here. I'm looking to become certified in Phlebotomy in my home state of MA. I heard from someone that if you're only taking a certificate program (as opposed to an Associate's or Bachelor's degree), it doesn't matter if the school is accredited or not. True or false?
I’m looking and can’t seem to find a phlebotomy program in my area that’s not kinda shady. I went to one school and was ripped off for like 1700.00. I need a school in Florida even if I have to travel and rent a room until I complete the program. Frustrating. Any help you guys can provide would be awesome.
