I'm finding it difficult to locate suitable applicants on my own. Is there an easier way to locate, interview and with any luck find the right person for the job without having to pay thousands of dollars to a head hunting agency?

I'm 59 years old, male, who has been in sales most my life. About a year ago I got my real estate license. The real estate market here in Hemet, CA, is not good and I need to obtain a more secure job. I would like to stay in the Real Estate realm...and would like to pursue some type of training to become a property manager. I am almost 60, though I don't look it. I look 15 years younger and feel younger as well. I know many are probably saying 'he's too old' but i'd really like to hear fro...
Would someone please give me the average salary for a property manager with 250 units in the Little Rock, AR area?
I think this is a very interesting topic and I'm looking into it myself. How can I find out more on entry-level property management???
I recently retired from the US Post Office with 25 years of service. Prior to that, I was in apartment property management for a total of four years and would love to get my foot back in the door. I truly loved the job and only accepted employment with the Post Office due to being a single parent and the pay and benefits with the US Post Office enabled me to support my son by myself comfortably. I do not know if it is my age or the lapse of time being in the business as the reason that I have n...

Hi, I currently live in Lexington, Kentucky and have been managing residential (and some commercial) for the past 8 or so years at property and regional position. I will be moving to Boynton Beach, Florida in January 09. I think I am aiming this question more toward the person who posts under "Unemployed.. West Palm Beach". What I am realizing when starting to look for available positions there in Florida is that most of them require someone with a real estate license. Is this pretty common?...
The cost of obtaining and maintaining these designation is substantial. Are they worth it? Any advantages in a designation if you are jobhunting? How about membership in CAI? Any input is greatly appreciated.

looking for entry level work in property management is working as a leasing agaent admin assistant necessary
I have unsuccessfully been searching for entry level work as an assistant property manager. I was under the impression that this position is a common entry level start in this field. I have experience in both residential and commercial real estate sales as well as in finance, but no direct experience in property management.I would prefer to avoid a pure sales job (ex. leasing) and am hesitant to "settle" on lowering my expectations, as I'm concerned if this really IS a legit path up the chain....

I started out in the property management business in 1987. I was hired as the assistant to the general manager of a very large planned community in North West New Jersey. Over the course of two years and subsequent to the GM being fired, I was asked by the board of trustees (a self managed community) to do the job until they hired a new GM. More than a year passed until a new manager was hired. I stayed on board for another year then was told by the new GM my position was being eliminated due...
I started in Property Management fresh out of college and on my own in New York City (back in the days of free rent.) As I have heard it said for over a decade it gets in your blood. After 11 years with the same company and moving up to Director of Accounting and finaly Regional Director, I changed companies and took a Director position in California.8 months in I was involved in a head on collision with a drunk driver, after being told I would walk or work again spent the next 4 years having su...

I have 14 years experience as a Realtor in Colorado. There are plenty of job postings for property managers BUT they all require 2 year's experience. Give me a break ! If I can deal with all the paperwork relating to being a Realtor than I can certainly learn the property management software and I KNOW how to work with people. We looked for apartments recently, at least 20 complexes and it seems that most of the "property managers" are very young without ANY experience. What am I missing bes...
