How do I apply for the jobs of my choice
I have a Ph.D. in research (human development and family science), but I want to transition to counseling. My plan is to do so by getting an MSW and I am very flexible regarding location, but it seems as though there is large variability in the quality of places to live as a social worker/counselor. Does anyone have suggestions about places that are particularly good versus bad? Right now, I am considering Seattle, Denver, San Diego, and a few areas in the Northeast (Philly, Pittsburgh, D.C./Ma...

Acquired a contract data entry job through Aerotek in San Diego, CA and I am wondering if Aerotek actually conducts random drug tests out of the blue?
Can anyone tell me where I can take the class in San Diego?? How much will it cost and how long? I know U.S. College offers the class for about $2500 for about 2 months depending. Unsure if should take the class there. Has anyone taken the class there? Please let me know asap. Thanks.
It seems to me that the majority of recruiting firms (the big ones or the ones that contact me) mostly deal with temporary / contract positions. Does anyone have recommendations on scientific / tech recruiting firms that deal mostly with permanent positions? I'm interested in San Diego as well as nationally, mostly metropolitan cities. Thanks!
I've been sending resumes all over the place, I don't know if it's me, the pressure of being unemployed, or what, but I been sending resumes and applications for two months already. I am Mexican, I have a BA and an MA degree from Mexico... I don't have a chip on my shoulder or something like that... but it could it be that HR generalists or recruitment specialist think it twice before give me a call because my education and degrees were obtained abroad?Am I overly thinking it?
I graduated in December with a BSME and, after 150 applications (started 2 months before graduating), no bites yet! I have a decent GPA, an active security clearance, prior military technical experience, and an EIT certificate. Is hiring during these months slow? Are companies waiting until the Spring semester to start hiring new grads? What gives? The job search is draining my otherwise happy demeanor. I hope I don't have to add a letter to my name in order to "whitewash" it...America is pa...

Hi Terri,I'm also looking online for the website of a college I attended in 1985-6. The name was Pacific Coast College in the San Diego area. I graduated as an Executive Secretarial. What I'm not sure is if we attended the same college, if Pacific College is the same as Pacific Coast College.******************* (my last name when attended was **********)

I'm in my early 30s and work in the financial services space as an IT business analyst. I have been living and working in NYC for the past several years. I'm very fed up with living here and would really like to relocate to California, maybe San Diego or the Bay area, or really most anywhere else in the state. I have a few questions for which I'm seeking guidance. 1. The main issue is how do I find a job in the IT area as a business analyst or project manager in California when I live in NY? It ...
I'm a Maric College graduate from 1996 and haven't worked in the healthcare industry since 1999. I want to work in healthcare once again as a medical assistant but would I need to re-take all the courses again to get certified as an MA?
My husband and I are in our early 30's and are looking for a change in environment. We currently live in Vancouver, BC and really like it here but are ready for a new adventure. From the research I've done, it looks like San Diego and New York City would both be good fits for us, albeit for very different reasons. A bit about us - I'm a journalist and my husband is a software developer. I am American and will be applying for a green card for my husband who is Canadian. In the meantime, the hope...
What companies are fueling growth in San Diego? Why are they a great employer?
I have posted in a few different sections here, but I'm unsure of which ones specifically so I'll share my complete story here. I have gone through the hiring process with AT&T, and with help from many members here, I was prepared in a number of ways as to what I should expect. I applied in December of 2012, or January of 2013, somewhere right in there. There were positions available in San Diego, California for "Premises Technician" and "Splicing Technician" at the time. I applied for both. THE...
Hi, I’m a CRT that has not been working since I was laid off in 2009. Now hospitals in San Diego, CA require an RRT. I have forgotten a lot of things in respiratory care because I haven’t practiced in so long. But I want to get back into practice. I’ve kept up my CRT, but need my RRT. Do you recommend I just start studying for the RRT or do the CRT over or what are my options? Nobody in San Diego is hiring CRTs anymore. Thank you!
Hi Erik,My girlfriend and I are moving to San Diego on Nov 1st and neither one of us have a found a job. Both of us have college degrees mine is in management her is in marketing.
Looking to relocate from VA to either Baltimore, San Diego, or Tampa with opportunities in the DoD area for cleared work. How is it to best to begin to scope out positions? Seems if my resume is listed on websites such as clearancejobs.com, all of the inquiries I have been getting are from recruiters where I currently live in VA. I have also registered with LinkedIn. Is there a way to show on there that you are interested solely in opportunities outside of your existing residency? Is it best to f...
