I was contacted by the same company today. I was so excited but I knew it was too good to be true. $24/ hr for training and $48/hr to work. I could work up to 45 hours a week??!! I am a licensed counselor with a B.A. and I do not make that much. I am trying to figure out the angle and where the scam was going to come in. I can only assume it would involve the check. Pretty bummed because as a full time student I really needed a job!! DO NOT CONTACT THESE PEOPLE!! THEY MESSED WITH THE WRONG PERSON I WILL TELL YOU THAT MUCH. I SPENT 10 YEARS IN I.T. , I WILL ENJOY THE PAYBACK!!

This person  alishawilliams10@yahoo.com is the worst scammer thus far! DO NOT FALL FOR IT !
So I got a email from them saying to create a yahoo messager for an"interview and briefing on the company. I wanted to see what's it about because it said pays 27$hr. So I spend a few minutes which I will never get back creating a yahoo( which I'm totally a gmail user) this is the conversation i had with this scammer:

Me: yes go on .
alishawilliams10: Can we proceed ?
Me: OK
alishawilliams10: Here's the company website (www.adaptec.com). You are required to use (FIVE) minutes
alishawilliams10: Welcome To Adaptec Company.
Me: okay .
alishawilliams10: Next would be the briefing about the Job and the company. I advise you read with care. Just follow the briefing and you can ask questions when i am through. Let me know when you have finished reading and understanding every line. You will be allowed to ask questions later.With each line just respond with an Okay.

While holding this conversation with this scammer ,I called the company because I found it a bit odd that the interview was on a yahoo messager with a personal username . the company WAS ANNOYED! they had told me I was the 50th person who called today and this scammer been doing this for months now putting their companies name in the dirt. The guy or girl I was talking to, scammed people to where they take people account numbers ,yahoo contacts , social security numbers and wipe out everything in their account and take their identities ! HARD WORKING PEOPLE OR PEOPLE TRYING TO GET EMPLOYED! pretty twisted if you ask me . I contacted yahoo and took actions also I give that person a piece of my mind before blocking them .
The person never wrote back ....
So please people ! Be careful who you talk to and do your rescearch before you become a victim. Its a horrible thing and showed be illegal! NEVER GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION OUT UNLESS YOUR INFORNT OF THE EMPLOYER AND ITS LEGIT!

I did do the Yahoo IM interview with this person and regrettably provided my name, phone # and address. When I received an email the next day asking for scanned copies of my driver 's license or passport along with my ssn, I quickly decided to reply and tell them that I was no longer interested. They were offering to send me a check as well to purchase office equipment for use at home. I told them not to send me the check. Once again, be careful out there.

I got this exact same email yesterday! My email was from a "Leanne DeBruyn" and the email address was admin@leannedebruynllc.com. But a "Gabriel Brandon" emailed me...it instantly looked like a scam, so thank God for this forum!

I wanted to add this: I would suggest using an alternate, abbreviated version, or initials as a name on resumes. I would also avoid putting my address or home telephone number as well. I think using a Google Voice number on the resume with an email set up ONLY for job hunting would be best in situations like this going forward. Like someone else said, unless the posting mentions the company name, you ALWAYS have to take these listings with a huge grain of salt. We also need to start applying through reputable sites such as the company's career site, or through Indeed or Glassdoor.

I got a text message on my phone asking if I was available for an interview with the National Health Service company. I looked up the NHS company and could only find England's DHS. In the google-hangout interview the guy, Sir Daniel Cole 71, sent me to www.nhs.uk, which is the home page for England's NHS department to show he was legitimate. I answered questions but gave no information not already available on my resume. I got the same line about him having to check with his superiors but they ok'd my hire in ten minutes. When he told me I needed to purchase my work materials, I told him that this is not how people get hired for job and told him I was reporting him to the FBI and hung up.

Got a text from "Paul Hunt" with SUNSEA telecommunication.
Was obviously a scam after doing a bit of searching on linked-in and the company website (i didn't remember applying to any job with this company)

I never responded to the text so dont have anymore info.

Some tips to avoid scams like this:

Be wary of very simple or common names.
Always do a google search and check out the so called company.
typically legitimate companies will call you as opposed to text.

I was duped by this employment scam by a "David Cooper" and a "Joseph Parks" from Max Healthcare Ltd. based in India. After seeing this blog today I looked into Max Healthcare Ltd. a bit more closely and noticed it has no presence in the United States. "Joseph Parks" had told me, on Google Hangout, that it had branches in AZ, CA, IN, and DC, and was opening up one in my area... How convenient. They sent me a cashiers check which I deposited and waited for it to clear, which it did. Then, per their instructions I sent money grams from a Walmart to their "vendors" to purchase equipment and software to perform data entry from home. All very bizarre once you think about it. But I didn't until today when "Joseph Parks" told me I needed to do the process again. Meanwhile I've told them my name, age, address, telephone numbers, email address, and name of my bank. I have not told them my social security number or bank account number. Can they steal from me with the information they have? Or were they planning to get the crucial information from me later to receive my first paycheck? I don't think I'll wait to find out. Seems like it's time to admit this is a hoax and I was duped. So embarrassing.

Follow up: I have already been stollen from. The cashiers check I received and deposited on a Saturday in an ATM was a fake. Which I would have known if I had waited until Monday and physically gone into a branch to have it verified. It didn't really clear my account really... It is going to bounce back. Meanwhile the money grams I sent are irreversible. I have lost the money I sent. That is the scam. Voila. Do not believe in cashiers checks. Verify them in person with your bank. Or better yet don't fall for far-fetched scams like I did.

Beware this is a scam as well. Received email from info@parkseed.com but interview was for bearingpoint. They ask the same info as I've been reading in everyone's comments. I decided to go through the full process so I can get the fake check and give it to the police.

Yah, I was falling for the same type of scam. Here are the details about the position and conversation I was contacted about:
Received emails from the following people:
NAME AND EMAIL: ROMAN PERKINS from rompeck091@gmail.com (this is the person I spoke to at length). I'm 100% positive it's a scam at this point because I see others posting the name 'perkins' above.. what a shame, i needed a job.
NAME AND EMAIL: JERRY BROSMAN from works@wiproindustries.com . if it was the actual company then it would have been 'wipro.com', i learned this by just googling the company name with the word 'email' - simple detection you can do on your own. I thought it was weird this guy claimed to be HR director but never listed any contact details. He just pointed me to the guy above and I emailed him and met him on google hangout for our conversations. he kept wanting me to report online at 9am.

I received a text this morning from (four-two-four)two-seven-five--zero-three-three-one saying:

Hello good morning, this is Ms Elizabeth Williams contacting from Media Tek INC, regarding your resume
that was forwarded to my desk from www.indeed.com about
being interested in the company's available positions. Please reply with YES to confirm am connected with the right person. Thank you

I responded with "Yes".

They replied:
Okay very good. The positions available are Data Entry Clerk,Accounting Clerk,Administrative Assistant,Payroll, Medical biller, Bookkeeper,marketin, sales,Bookkeeper,Office Assistant,Customer services,which will you be capable of handling effectively If properly trained?

I then said:
If properly trained, I would be able to handle any of the listed jobs effectively. If I'm required to choose, then I would say Payroll, Bookkeeper, Office Assistant, and Customer Services would be my top choices.

They replied:
The interview and job briefing session will commence immediately as its being done online on yahoo instant messenger, so do you have a yahoo ID and also a yahoo messenger application either on your PC or mobile ?

I then responded:
A legit job would not be trying to interview me on a messenger app. You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to scam someone who clearly is looking for an actual job. Do not text this number again.

The company they say they are with is a legit company. The fact that they were texting me threw up a red flag but I continued to respond because there was still a little bit of hope that it was legit.

Hey guys just wanted to inform people that if you receive a email like this it is a scam.I received one yesterday and just thought i would share to prevent anyone from identity theft. I happened to google this and noticed on forums something similar. The link provided is a way for them to deep scan your info and find out info about you personally and see if they can get some bank info about you. Be wary guys.

I went through the interview vial hotmail because i refused to install yahoo messenger, everything was legit even referred me to "their" website www.lifethc.com/ all standard interview stuff and then offered me the job, 25/hr data entry and proccessing 13/hr training. Then the red flag, they require special software, the company covers the expenses by way of mailing me a check to make the purchase, I got suspicious and asked if there was a company phone number that I could call for support or if I had questions and asked point blank if this was a check scam they quit responding.

Ok so I was an idiot and didn't really look that deep into this and I think I fell victim to this scam. I gave them my information except SS and bank account information. I received a check in the mail cashed it and went to Walmart to send money via moneygram to their "vendor" it was 900 and after I got home from class I realized that this was probably a scam. Can anyone please help me into the right directions for which actions to take now? Please I'm serious email me rmarc1974@yahoo.com I'm really scared because my parents have no idea

Just to let everyone know, I too just have been scammed by this company. They are horrible. Now they are using google hangouts and actually have a picture of some lady that goes back to someone who supposedly works for this company. So apparently they have done their homework a little better.

The company name they are using is Accent Healthcare and they are actually using the stuff from this companies website to recruit you. That way if you check out the company, it will match up. I asked them for a number to reach someone from the company so that I could verify all the information and they could not do it. Also, when you try to call them, they dont answer. I am sure they are not going to sound like the white woman whose face they are putting up to deceive people. Anyway thank you all for your information before I messed around and gave them more information. I too gave them my name and address but nothing else.

How do I get them to stop now? They sent me three more emails this morning, two of them from the same person, but all them exactly the same. Two were from an Amy Tillemans and another from Kaylyn Wesley. Whats funny is that they both used the same email address different names.

I had the same thing happen I did my interview was hired and I did not give them any personal information ut I did research that night and found this sight and when they tried to contact me the next day I never responded back but now I have a check that shower up via Fed Ex this morning what should I do with this check it is from a Bancorp south and the names are not even anyone associated with the company they stated it was a Job with World Wide Technology

If your parents aren't abusive types then you need to let them know so they can steer you in the right direction and prevent this from happen there is nothing you can do now since you have already sent them money (you will never see that money again) just use this as a lesson.

Scammers will never stop there's nothing you can do to get them to stop sending you email. Don't click on the links they provide and just delete the emails. The FBI has tips and a report form but there isn't much they can do as the scammers use other people's IP addresses and they are in other countries therefore out of reach of the FBI's hands.

Buyer Beware in Pasadena, California said: I received 3 texts. The first two: Hello. Is this (my actual name with middle initial). The 3rd was advising me I was "being" chosen (not "been chosen" as would be grammatically correct). I also received an email with similar instructions to set up a Yahoo messenger account . In this instance, the names: Debra Smith, Christine Z McCauley, and Edwards Lifesciences Pvt Ltd. That is a real company and McCauley is the Corporate VP for HR . However, there were too many typos and the same scenario - Yahoo messenger interview. This company is all over the world and they want to do a messenger interview? No. Also, the phone # from the texts is eight oh five two nine eight seven five oh four. Eight oh five is a real area code in California (Moor Park, Ventura County). And yes, I used "oh" instead of zero on purpose.

In California, at least, it is against the law to ask ANY question that can identify your age - send picture with resume, what year did you graduate high school, etc. When answering Craigslist ads, remove your personal information except for email address. If they are legit, they will email you and ask you to contact them via phone. I did send my resume to hrdesk14@yahoo.com from Craigslist for an Administrative Assistant position, but unfortunately, I didn't know then not to include my address or phone number. So, now I only put my name (no middle initial), city and state, and email address. I agree with others who have said it's so sad that here we are desperate for work and now we have to worry about getting scammed. The times we live in! Best of luck everyone in getting an honest job!

Actually being chosen if they used I was is correct the way you think is correct is if they had used I had been chosen.

I received an email from a Frank Donald from AZ Job Connection [vajobportal@riseup.net], the job services site in AZ saying they submitted my resume for a job with "TDX Group" & they wanted to do a Yahoo Messenger (YM) with me & gave me a date/time for it. Told me to set up a messenger acct & add a Roland Walters to my buddy list, YM is: sec_roland.walters

I checked on TDX Group before anything else, yes it is a legit company in London. Wanting more information before setting up a YM account I emailed them about what type of job it was, etc. They told me I would find out in the interview, should have set off signals that it wasn't legit at that time. I set up a YM account and did the interview. I was on on-time, he was 90 minutes late, another bad sign. He sent me the job description & when I asked him if it was a phone job he got mad & just said Data Entry, then asked if he could go on, even though I wanted more clarification..another signal. Then he asked me typical interview questions, but when I took too long giving him an answer about my job skills, he "Buzzed" me...another signal since a real employer wouldn't care how long it took. He said he had to give my info to the Board for approval, back in 10 minutes. Then came back & I had the job, another signal. Would receive an offer letter; print, sign & return. Training would start the next morning on YM. Asked for name, address, phone, sex & bank name, nothing too major. I signed the letter & sent it back.

The signals finally clicked & I did more searching & found this page. I then emailed the person at TDX whose name was on the letter about it. He replied overnight letting me know it is a fraud that is under investigation & I should report it too, which I am doing today. The con actually texted me when I didn't show up on YM, I told him I contacted TDX & was reporting it to the police, never heard from him again. Was able to download the YM conversation to give Police. Glad I looked further!!

I just went through an internship I found via Internships.com that prompted a Yahoo Messenger interview to "Auto desk inc company." The e-mail was twallacindy10@yahoo.com and its funny that the reply to my application was quickly marked as spam by Internships.com. I don't expect much from this but they have my address and whatever else was on my application. Supposedly, they want to send me some papers to sign and a new computer package, but I'll hold my breath on that one before I have to contact the authorities to try and find these guys.

Well, since the application to the job included my resume, this "fake job" keeps texting from a phone number based in another state telling me they sent me something in the mail. Reviews for the phone number state the same fake e-mail address I posted above earlier.

I also received a check in the mail today with a "value" of 2,680.99. The check has a Prudential logo in the top left corner and the address on the check says:

Computershare Ink
250 Royal St
Canton, MA 02021

The check was sent by 1 day priority-mail express from a totally different address than the check in Massachusetts:

Global Headquarters
250 Moonachie Road
Moonachie, NJ 07074

I'd like to know what is going on...

If you have received a check, DO NOT DEPOSIT IT!!!!!! All these jobs are scams if they ask you to message them using Yahoo. If it sound too good to be true then its a lie. I also had my interested peeked but once I looked into the job, I realized that it was fake. There are other scams people use to get you to send them cash and you have to pay the bank back. We are a gullible group people and they seek us out. Do not give out any information about your banking or your SSN. Report them to the FBI, even if it don't help find them. Its makes you feel good just knowing you have done your part.

I wish I knew about this 30 mins ago... I just finished my "online interview" which wasn't a shock to me, I have had other online interview but they were all video chats not IM's. I got a text message that they received my resume... I figured all was well because they got my cell number from my resume. They tell me they are sending a check and I am supposed to log in tomorrow at 8AM my time. I guess they got me too... I am not logging in, I am going to block them on yahoo and alert whoever I can about this. They have my address and my bank name I hope they can't do anything with that info.

People beware they contacted me in reference to a company called Live Process

Okay, now this is getting annoying. I keep getting text messages from this phone number:

Notice the other reports by other users are the same information I was given. This is so dumb to be honest.

And they say anything from making sure I deposit the check to threatening the FBI to call me and track me down because I refuse to answer their calls. They keep saying I have 24 hours to reply to the FBI or else I won't get some equipment shipment that other employees are waiting for. These are the two numbers that keep calling me, different from the text message numbers:

Your resume is public information if posted on any job sites (Monster, Career Builder and others) or any responses to jobs that you may have submitted to. Once its out there, you are being looked at for possible job opportunities but more likely to become a victim of a scam. If possible, apply via direct job boards and not the job site.

Tell your parents what happened. You will not get that money back. There is no way that you can find these people and persecute them for this crime.

Well, good thing I don't use sites like that. That's not where I got caught into this whole thing. I submitted my resume to some job listings on Internships.com (which keeps stuff private between yourself and the places you apply to) that looked legitimate and would look legitimate to a lot of people because they were written well and had valid qualifications but in essence were just stealing information. It's so hard to find a job or internship these days and it just makes it that more of a hassle to have to watch out for these people.

I was texted by a woman who said she was a hiring manager from Goldman Sachs. I looked her up and she is indeed a real person with the company, but probably wasn't who I was texting with. When I asked the peerson on google chat who she told me to contact, how my resume was found, the person said it was through the NY Sate Job Bank. My resume is indeed on there. But I've just never done an interview like this and I'm so glad that I ended that chat even though it took me a full 15 mins. I was being asked questions that should've been on my resume and after having my bank call me up for a fraud alert only about a month ago I definitely wasn't going to give any sensitive information to someone on google chat! Smh. I blocked that email address on google chat too so hoplefully no more of this foolishness.
