Chirag in Winchester, Massachusetts said: Thanks for the this detailed reply. Well, I am working in Clinical Research industry - PAREXEL as an assistant and I will hopefully get a promotion as CRA sometime in future. But I wanted to know India (Gujarat or Maharashtra) has any good CRA positions and companies. Do they hire people who has worked in US ? Reason I am asking this is because I may want to move to India for few years and see if I can work there in Clinical Research Industry. Whats the pay-scale like ? Whats the work / travel enviornments ? dear pravakar, there are never any openings in india for any CROs. I have been struggling to get a job, im looking for one since the past 7 months and Im still at home doing nothin, no one wants to take me now, they say i am at home so i have lost touch, or they say i dont have enough experience in clinical operations, if no one gives me a job then how will i get experience |

I am not sure wether you have already signed up, but i can suggest that you try someother school. American Scitech is a scam they pay $400.00 per month under the table to their interns. they promise you something and when you get to the internship they'll give you a bunch of bull.. if you do sign up ... get this in writing. see if they're willing to give you an internship for what they make claims for.

Hi,
|
Robert in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 97 months ago |
how are you a 'certified CRA' without any previous CRA jobs? the only type of certification employers care about is the ACRP or SoCRA certification (you have to be a CRA for 2 years before you're allowed to sit for either test). those bogus programs that give you a certificate or claim to 'certify' you as a CRA are meaningless and most are scams. texas is the home to many CROs, there are many options in your area. just look up the local CROs and you shouldn't have a problem finding a place to work. all CRA jobs in this economy require at least 2 years of previous work as a CRA. |

kk, I know this is an internet forum, but the first thing that strikes me about your post is the poor spelling, grammar and syntax. CRAs must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Even if you edit out 90% of the errors in your post, your resume would be thrown in the trash. With the bad economy, employers are struggling and not a lot of hiring is going on, especially for entry-level people, so any mistake like the ones you are making in your post would look really bad and they probably wouldn't call you about the job. |

This post is for those wanting to get more information and/or start a career in clinical research. On May 5, 2010 I went to a Information Session at Durham Tech for their clinical trials program and got a lot of good questions answered. I have the requirements for 4 programs they offer. The programs are: 1) Assoicate Degree in Clinical Trials Associate, 2) Certificate-Level I, 3) Certificate-Level II, and 4) Data Management Certificate. I have the requirements for all of them and you can DM me for the requirements. I have a lot of other information on the programs and what kind of jobs you can get following the programs at Durham Tech. If you get a chance, apply ASAP, as space is available as first-come-first-serve, and apparently are filling up quick. For a Certificate-Level I, you need 1 year experience or a Bachelors in a science (Biology/Chemistry emphasized) or nursing degree. For a Cert.-Level II, you need 2 years experience or a completion of Level I. Data Management Cert. requirements are similar to that of Level I. Also, computer skills are very important. A computer comp. test may be required if you have not taking a computer class prior. I have a Bachelors Degree in biology and therefore will be trying to enroll for Level I. My opinion on the program at Durham Tech is that with RTP being such a popular place for companies in biotech, clinical research, etc. Durham tech has a great network with all the companies in the area. In the Associate Degree program, you get 2 semesters of internship/field work, and many end up working for that company, according to Durham Tech. Internship is available in the Level I cert. program only if you take the first class in Level II, which will overlap. If you have anymore questions, I will try to help as much as possible, because I am a recent graduate trying to get into the field as well and will help as much as i can. DM me for more info. Good Luck |
