I am really getting discouraged! I have been job seeking for quite some time, am on probation for an incident, and cant get a job! I have no restrictions on my nursing skills, except that I cannot supervise others or work in home / hospice care. So where in Ohio can I find a job?? Any help anyone??

Don't give up. I got a felony conviction almost 30 years ago small amount of an uncontrolled substance. Not one thing on my record sense. Having a hard time finding a job. Some people believe in second chances. You have to look hard to find those people.

Hi New Phili. I am also an RN in Akron, Oh. i am so frustrated too! I have been on multiple interviews. the last one was 1 1/2 hrs. i thought it went well and now 3 weeks later they don't even have the professional courtesy to even call me back or send a letter stating they chose another candidate & I am the one who doesn't get the job! I am very professional all of the time. I am trying not to let my mistakes define me, but the nursing profession is very unforgiving of their own! All we can do is keep waiting for that 1 person to believe in us!!

Hi. I have an identical situation here in Alabama. My probation is not drug related and no patient was harmed. It was an administration and documentation error. But because of needing a monitor for the last two years I have been out of work. Everyone in the healthcare community says keep your head up and keep looking but no one is willing to stick their foot out. I feel like I wasted my money. Each state should have a program where if this happens you can recover without depending on the kindness of a stranger to hire you. I mean they provide away for criminals to recover why not nurses.

I’m in Springfield, MO. I do know a place but it’s a stressful job, but it is nursing.

Im having the same issues in Alabama. Active/Probation, not drug or alcohol related. Only restrictions are no home health, no supervisory position for twelve months. Im at a loss. I suppose my Nursing career is over for unintentional omission of a previous job.

Anybody at there please help. I have to go in front of the board to beg for my license after a felony conviction of a non nursing related case I was implicated.

I feel your pain. I am in California, I've been looking for 4.5 years with no luck. It's frustrating.

I am with you. I have been looking for a year. Ive done everything they have asked of me but I can't catch a break. I'm petitioning to have my terms changed to get rid of the supervision componets. Im not hopeful.
