We have a great vet assistant who wants to help us out in the clinic more than just cleaning kennels. We are hoping she can start helping our DVM more like inducing and intubating a pet under his supervision when needed. Is that allowed? Is there a description of what a vet assistant can and can not do? Thanks

You need to look at your state veterinary practice act with questions like these. Each state sets it's own rules as to what a veterinary assistant can or cannot due and under what level of supervision.

The detailed list of tasks allowed CVTs and assistants in PA can be found here: www.pacode.com/secure/data/049/chapter31/s31.31.html

Definitions for terms like "direct supervision" and "immediate supervision" can be found here: www.pacode.com/secure/data/049/chapter31/s31.1.html
