Managing Sponsored Job Budgets
A sponsored job budget controls how much you spend on average per day to advertise a job posting on Indeed. It affects how often job seekers see your job and works on a pay-for-performance basis.
Plan and budget options
When sponsoring a job, you choose a plan and set a daily budget:
Standard
- Uses Indeed's recommended daily budget for your job.
- Recommended by Indeed based on your job title, location, and market competition.
- Works well for most hiring needs.
- This amount is set automatically and can't be edited.
To use a different amount, switch to Custom.
Premium
- Uses a higher recommended daily budget for more visibility and relevant results.
- Works best when a role is hard to fill, requires multiple hires, or is urgent.
- Additional features offer greater customization and expanded reach.
- This amount is set automatically and can't be edited.
To spend more or less than the Premium amount, switch to Custom. A high enough custom budget may still qualify for Premium-level visibility, depending on your market.

- This amount is set automatically and can't be edited.

To spend a different amount than the recommended Premium Plus budget, switch to Custom.
Custom
- Set your own daily budget within your market's limits.
- A barometer indicates how well your sponsored job is likely to perform at your chosen budget.
- Higher custom budgets may unlock Premium-level features if they meet the threshold.
- Minimum required amount for each job may vary based on market dynamics.
Your actual daily spend may vary, but will average out to your set daily budget over time.
Update your budget
- Sign in to your Indeed Employer account.
- Navigate to your Jobs page.
- Click or tap the three dots next to the job you want to edit.
- Select Manage budget.
- Update your plan, daily budget amount, or duration.
- Save your changes. It may take a little while for changes to show in your reports.
Update your plan duration
- Continuous (no end date) — Maximum weekly budget = 7.5 × daily budget
- Set running time (like 15 or 30 days) — Maximum total budget = daily budget × number of days
- Custom end date — Maximum total budget = daily budget × number of days
Daily spend may go above or below your set amount. However, it will never exceed the overall maximum for your plan period.
FAQs
Question: Can I set a monthly budget?
Answer: No. Budgets are set up as daily average amounts. The product shows estimated weekly or total spend so you can plan accordingly.
Question: Is there a price list?
Answer: No. There's no fixed public price list. Prices depend on marketplace dynamics and individual job attributes. You choose your budget during setup, within your market's limits.
Question: Can I change my end date?
Answer: Yes — at any time, as long as the job is still open and eligible for sponsorship.
Question: Can I switch between Standard, Premium, and Custom?
Answer: Yes. You can switch between plans at any time. Changes take effect going forward and may affect visibility and performance.
Question: Can my daily spend go above or below my set budget?
Answer: Yes. Your daily budget is an average, not a strict cap. Indeed will not exceed:
- 7.5 × your daily budget per week (continuous plans)
- Daily budget × number of days (fixed or custom end date plans)
